Eugene Demax Punches Jesse Turner In The Face

After the Round of Darlington tempers flared. Before Turner could even make it to the hauler, Eugene Demax confronted Jesse Turner with a punch to the face where our media crew was and heard Demax yelling "You think you can take out half the field just like that??" punches where flying from the crew guys from Turner's crew. Demax and Turner were seperated but the punches were far from over, crew guys from many different race teams were going at it. James Silverfox actually parked and watched the whole thing happen from the race track before doing his burnouts because the crowd was just going delirious over the outrage on pit road. Once both drivers were separated Turner and Demax were bloody and black and blue.

Reporter: Eugene, I know you're upset but do you have any reasons for fighting Turner?

Eugene Demax: Turner tried to take out one guy but in reality, he took EVERYONE out! So I thought if I punch his head hard enough, then maybe he'll learn not to do it again.

Reporter: Aren't you afraid of getting a huge penalty after this?

Eugene Demax: Nope. It's my last season man, it doesn't matter.

Reporter: Jesse Turner bloody and all but you still come home with a top 10. Walk us through the wreck with Shelly and why did you turn him around?

Jesse Turner:"Yeah, James and I have never had any bad blood, I've never raced him dirty at all, but I don't know why he chose to drive me up towards the wall on that restart. I was already upset with being trapped in the middle of the pack, but that's not like him, to do something like that. Going into 1, I just meant to give him a tap and bounce off him, but our cars hooked and into the wall we went. I hate to tear up those cars involved, including my own, but I haven't had my buttons pushed like that in a long time, so I'm showing these guys that I won't be pushed around so easily. Other than that, I'm pleased with a top-10. Thanks to my team for not giving up and for fixing the damage. Eugene landed a good one on my face, too bad he never gave me the chance to explain what happened. I know the SCS officials will be hard at work trying to sort out what's gonna happen to us all, but I know it's gonna be fair and honest, plus I'm gonna apologize to Shelly and we'll try to put this behind us as soon as possible."






After all was settled in the garage some of our drivers/owners had a few comments on the wreck.

Noah Hart: That was a very unlike Jesse Turner to do that. I've never seen Turner act or drive like that in my life. He's one of the nice guys in the garage that everyone likes. I'm sure he got taught a little leason about how to handle payback because what he did took out so many drivers that had nothing to do with their mess.

Jeffery Finguy: I'm pissed at Turner for trying to ruin half the god damn field. That was just idiotic!

Sean Perkins: In a way, I am kind of glad I fell out. I loved watching everyone throw their brain into the garbage can after I fell out. I sat down on the roof of my camper with a bag of popcorn, and a beer and watched that race intently. It was quite frankly hilarious. The SCS officials once again dropped the ball, because Turner should have been suspended. Or at least if I had done that, I would have had the book thrown at me. But once again, the SCS officials seem to play favorites.

Zachary Fitzwater: All I got to say is let's hope the Hardee's National Series runs a better race than we did. That was embarrassing.

Carson Scott: Bad qualifying for us, strategy and luck got us to the front at the end, then a stupid idiot caused a wrecked after the caution was thrown.






The end result in all this?


- Demax hit with a $100,000 fine, probation for the rest of the year, and a 40 point driver penalty.

Media: Are there any waves at TFR right now with you and your driver Carson Scott? He said after the race quote, "Bad qualifying for us, strategy and luck got us to the front at the end, then a stupid idiot caused a wrecked after the caution was thrown." end quote.


Jesse Turner: "I understand how upset he is. He and his team do a great job at driving good races, and it's a shame that my emotions led to his car being crumpled up and out of the race. But we're both racers at heart, we race to win, and we'd both equally be frustrated with others lighting our fuses, if you catch my drift. We'll make it up to him and tune up his car to be very fast for the next race."

Tauger: He's lucky that my engine blew up, otherwise I would have petitioned to have him banished form the league altogether for at least 2-3 races.

I was preparing to do a TV interview. I saw Eugene jog around the front of the car, I knew he was up to something. And then he landed a punch beside my jaw. I ducked back and tried to grab his fists, but then our crew guys came in and they carried the fight on from there. I still have a sore lip but I'll be fine tomorrow.
