New Rules Package Empty New Rules Package

Post by FUEL March 24th 2017, 1:31 pm

Starting for Round 5 all teams will be mandated to run the same exact shock package for the National Series race cars. Any car that fails to pass inspection with this certain type of shock package will result in a 40 point penalty and a $100,000 fine. This rule package is to really bring the competition and the drivers closer together on the track and put the racing a lot back into the drivers hands. Engines with the right horsepower will still have some advantage but the advantage of handling and how a car runs through the corner and the speed it carries down the straightaways that these teams have on running their own shocks will not longer be in place.

New Rules Package Empty Re: New Rules Package

HNS Officials: We are under regulations with the SCS and want this series to be a good stepping stone series for the Cup level. We feel this gives the drivers a great chance that even if they don't have the fastest car they can still challenge if all the cars are in stock the same way. The teams still have different bodies and can push the boundaries as close as they want in inspection but on the car, the shock package is expected to make a shift in power in who can really drive a race car and get noticed by Cup teams to possibly move up the rank. We can't wait to see how this package goes as we move forward.

Sean: I am all for closing the pack up! However, I am not for the steep penalty against the driver if their car is found to be illegal.

Lester: I'll take this. These are solid punishments to keep the teams in line with the rules. Some are saying it's excessive to be charging so much, but I don't feel so.

Davidson: I Believe that the National Series is the last place I will do well at. I Do want a larger team to notice me in the cup So I can continue my career.
