Round 9 of Charlotte

We finally will take our turn at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It'll be our first ever race ran at this track surprisingly. Here is the Go or Go Home qualifying list for this weeks race. Qualifying along with final practice for the race will happen Friday night.

Pericles: "Sad to not have both me and Roush not qualify..Hopefully we can work our way up and actually get some results now."

Time for us to shine on a mile-and-a-half again. Ready to go blistering fast in front of a great crowd.

SCS Officials: After our discussion with Zachary Fitzwater we have warned him for wreckless driving. Since Matt Daleo qualified for Charlotte he will be forced to sit out of main qualifying due to his grid penalty he got after Darlington, he will start 42nd.

I'll take the warning the officials gave me. Moved on from it. Ready to go racing at Charlotte

Kurtis: "Honestly feel devastated we didn't win that, had an amazing car, but lapped cars were just a nuisance out there. Got a solid finish today, however, so it's still satisfactory for me."

Damn, I certainly didn't think the race would play out like that!

15th. I don't get mad but when I do I'm mad at Silverfox Arca brakes stupidity. Sucks that Jenkins couldn't capitalize on that opportunity of a victory

Perkins protests results, says there was a timing and scoring glitch. Perkins claims he won the race


Sean Perkins, driver of car #81, has filed an official protest of the finishing results. Perkins claimed he was told that he was a lap down due to an ill-timed caution involving Jordan Davis blowing up and causing a multi-car pile up. Perkins stated, "I saw the wreck in front of me, and drove down the pit road in order to avoid some of the carnage up on the track. I made the pit road speed limit, and I coasted past my pit box with the idea that the wreck would boost me up to about third position. However, I came onto pit road when the red light was on. Like SCS rules stated, I started at the tail end up the lead lap for coming down pit road when it was closed. However, once we took the green, I was told by my crew we were a lap down. I claimed it was impossible. As the run continued, I had a huge run with Luke Martin. I was under the impression that the officials would fix the timing glitch. However, they never did. I called to my crew on the last lap saying, 'Are we leading this', and they responded, 'no!' I know I won that race, and I have a strong feeling Luke will have that win taken away from him. Which is kind of sad, because Luke Martin did a hell of a job getting up through the order." 

Perkins closed his statement by saying, "If Luke gets that win taken away, I will be more then happy to let him keep that trophy."

Arndt and Roush Protest the Protest

Although drivers who don't make much noise and weren't even in the race, John Arndt and Scott Roush believe what happened at Charlotte was meant to be and should stay as it is. Yes, it is completely possible things were screwed up, but that does not mean we should not just move on to the next round. We believe that complaining just makes Perkins seem more like a victim and less than a person who should've won the race. Roush claims that "you just need to trust the scoring computers"

Tauger: 26th "Just proud to bring the car home in one piece."

(OOC: *Griffin stands in the garage area by his destroyed car and eyes it while talking*. This also takes place as the race is going on, so he is speaking without knowing the race's outcome.)

Griffin: "We had a car capable of winning this race. That's about all I can say. I had a line around the 5 and got blasted in the side and well (*jesters to wrecked car*) you see the result. I absolutely feel for my guys. That was the best car I've had this season and we certainly showed speed today. The worst thing is it's not Davis' fault either. Something broke and he had little to no time to react to it properly. But, we have more races coming up and how our 1.5 mile program did today does give me hope for future races. It's just going to take some time to get over this one."

Dodd, 23rd: "So proud of my #3 SPYoptic/Dirty Mo Radio team for getting this car in the show. It was a lot of fun to race here at Charlotte, and I sure hope the SCS comes here every year!"

Finguy: "Anyways, our luck shattered ever since Darlington. We tried to get a good run going. But that's just life. April Fools everyone?"

OOC: How do you know... I have had it happen running OES races before. Way back in Season 11 I think I had an instance where it happened.

Collins: Glad to be back on the consistency train. Me or Perkins will get BFM their first win this season, I sense it. I'm just glad to be racing the top 20 for the most part, especially after shitting the bed last season most weekends.
