Round 19 @ Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

Post by Wilhoit on July 8th 2017, 11:01 pm

Rain Expected for This Weekend
As the SCS paddock heads over to Canada, they were greeted with a week's full of consistent rainfall. The weather is not expected to clear up by race day, therefore, the Sony Cup officials have declared the Round of Canadian Tire Motorsports Park to become the very first rain race in series history.

Go-Go Homer Qualifying
Results:
1. Davidson
2. Bishop Jr.
3. White
4. Tauger
5. Nevins
6. Dodd
7. Roush
DNQ
8. Schultz
9. Pericles
10. Navarro
11. Pollard III
12. Shepherd
13. Daleo (No time)

Qualifying
As the weather began to grow intense, so did the session. Many drivers had problems at turns 6 and 8, as it had seen many drivers slide off the track. Those being the Cybertron Motorsports drivers of DJ Kurtis and Cody Llamas had their episodes of sliding off the track. This just comes to show how difficult driving a stock car in the rain can be. As for the results, it was quite a pleasant surprise for FUEL Brothers Racing, as Charles Sandfer takes the pole.

Kurtis: "Just aiming to keep the car in one piece today, rain conditions are treacherous for a reason."

Kurtis: "How I didn't wreck is beyond me, great finish for the #19, just took it nice and easy once I had lone race track, too far back from the leader to do much."

*Post-Race Comments*

Griffin: "Kicking myself today. We had a top 3 car and I threw it off the track. I'm happy we recovered with a 10th and got the ROTY point, but I'm disappointed because I think we could've finished better than we did."

*Later*

Griffin (continued): "I don't know what Jeffery [Finguy] was doing though. I had it recovered and was easing back on track and he about took off the right front fender. And I haven't the slightly idea what happened with Aaron [Tailor (sp?)], I'll have a talk with him and see what that was about. He's a teammate so I'll give him the benefit of doubt for now."

Finguy: *Post-Race Interview*
"[Ryan] Griffin has nothing to bitch about. He got a top ten while his dumbass teammate [Aaron Taylor] should be the one I want to see after this and get a stern word with."

Finguy: (Continued)
"I'm not saying the SCS should penalize Taylor. But they should after his display. If he could, he could had wrecked the race winner."

Roush after getting out of the Medical Center: Not sure what the [bleep] Fisher did. I was having a good run and he just flat out dumps me, I raced him clean and did nothing wrong. I think the old man has taken too many hits to be on the track if he is going to race dirty like that. I will dump him when he is doing good then. You just don't race like that and not expect it back. I may be young but I will take none of this bull[bleep]!
