Past Champion reflects on driving career and thoughts of returning Empty Past Champion reflects on driving career and thoughts of returning

In one of the shortest racing careers in recent memory, our Season 18 Champion Jordan Newman caught up with us and talked about his championship season.

In a 10 race season, Newman was driving for a relatively mid field team but pulled off an upset in the season finale to take the championship. The top 2 in the championship were rookies for the year who got signed on by Mountain Dew for the following year to race full time in 2015 however neither driver including our defending champion made it to the end of the year with the race team.

Newman previously left the series after Round 12 at Talladega to pursue other things in life. Newman talked with us earlier saying, "Man those were the days. A nobody out there competing with the big guys right from the get go. Winning the championship was just unthinkable at the time. Just a lot happened in my life at the time and this wasn't something I wanted to be apart of. However, catching up with everything now... I'm interested in possibly coming back next year. I'm not too sure yet but I'd consider all offers as I'm well aware of Silly Season coming up."

Jordan Newman has never won a race and has only started 22 races in his entire SCS career.
