Round 20 of Kansas

Post by FUEL on July 14th 2017, 9:33 pm

For the Round of Kansas our point leader D.J. Kurtis is on a roll. He just got done qualifying 3rd for Sunday's race while teammate Cody Llamas took home the Sony Pole to qualify for the Sony Shootout in 2018. Cyberton Motorsports look real quick this weekend which could be bad news for our title contenders trying to chase Kurtis in the championshipship run.

As for our Go or Go Homers here are who qualified in and who missed it.

1. 81 Bradley Bishop Jr.
2. 21 Zaedin Davidson
3. 62 Matt Daleo
4. 22 Maalik Nevins
5. 32 Treck Tauger
6. 3 Chris Dodd
7. 33 Stephen Pollard III

Did Not Qualify

8. 66 Nick Pericles
9. 06 Angel Navarro
10. 23 Beka Haddix
11. 37 Samet Ozkan

Darn, got wrecked. Finguy's spotter didn't see Harple coming/let him know he was coming, and that created that whole mess.

For reasons:

*#11 radio communications*

*When the 11 and 48 caught the 29*

#11 Spotter: "Slow car running high, 48 looking inside."
Griffin: "[expletive] 29, What the [expletive]!"
#11 Spotter: "Don't know what he was thinking dude.  Just calm down here dude, you still have the best car."

*White flag lap*

*11 Spotter*: "White flag here bud.  48 about 2 and half lengths back, 33 car not going to be a factor.  Just be smooth here bud."

*Checkered flag*
*11 Spotter*: "Come on bud.  You have just become a winner in the Sony Cup Series.  Hell of a job dude."
Griffin: "YYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS.  WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! HELL YEAH!  That's how you win one.  Thanks guys awesome job today."

*Griffin celebrates after the burnout by standing on the roof of the car with the flag and doing a backflip off the car {OOC: Ok, so I took Edwards victory celebration, lol, want to fight about it?lol}.*

*In victory lane*

Griffin: "That was fun.  The car was dynamite today.  I thought I had gave it away when we ran up on the 29 car the couple times we did.  I don't know what Charlie [Smith] was doing, but he just in the way today.  But, man, getting to race a SCS legend in Nick [Mace] for the win as hard and as clean as we did is awesome.  That is definitely what is going to make this most memorable for me.  I understand we are in 10th now in the title fight and while we may not be able to get there for the title we are going to give it our all over these next few weeks to try to do this [*points to celebrating crew*] again."

Kurtis: "Rather a shame we didn't get the finish we wanted, just visited the wall a bit too much there. We'll have to rack up from there, not every race can be good."
