Teams Folding Up and Coming In After 2016...

Silly Season is just right around the corner. Anything is up for question. We have two teams this season that doesn't plan on returning for sure and one is Titanium Motorsports unless they come back with a one off deal since they will be focusing more on the HNS. CBM will be going down to a 2 car team and Athenian will go up to a 3 car. Blue Flare has been on the fence on if they want to go down to a 2 car or stay a 3 car team. CM Racing is wanting to go up to a 2 car team. Turner Fenway is going up to a 4 car team. Swagger Motorsports is shutting down entirely after this year. ARROW Dynamics is returning back to the Sony Cup Series for the first time since Season 16 in a 2 car team and also Stephen Pollard III is starting up his own 1 car team called Victory in Jesus Racing.

If this stands which it might not things could change. We have a count of 49 full time cars running for 2017. 49 is a big number considering 7 drivers will miss every race plus we will have part timers come into the races here and there. Every team owner is active and I appreciate that but I ask all owners including others who might want to join in please be considerate if you want to extend a car count in your team or join the series with a reasonable low car count because the more you throw in... the more heartbreak it will cause when qualifying rolls around and a few miss out.

Really? Athenian is extending? I would've expected them to stay at two.

I am thinking about bringing in a new team to the SCS called Explorer Motorsports. It will start up as a one car team and the driver is TBD either Nathan Hood or Carli Clifford.

I am new to the SCS but not new to NR2003 I am the prez of the NMGAR and a driver in the NNSCRA NRSL HARC and BeastSports02.

Is the team allowed to start now and run in 2017 (can I start a thread for it?)

If you want. Just need to a painted car on the original mod with the SCS logo on the car and you're good.

What mod is the SCS using for 2017? I literally just realized I don't know the name of it. And will the HNS be going through a mod change?

HNS prob won't but the cup mod for next year is BR2010

Seeing new teams is quite exciting, but it's a shame that others are closing doors or focusing on other places. That's the reality of motorsports right there.

Yea, Titanium doesn't have much of a choice. With money running this sport, they don't have much more of that so whereas it's easier to run in the HNS they're doing that.

I don't even have the mod-if someone else wants to paint it they can it's a Target Chevy no 53.

Can you paint the car? I have no painting ability or awful paints with tiny 2D markings.

Don't worry about any of this until silly season dude. We'll figure everything out then.

You can't really pick a number or sponsor until Silly Season comes because your number or sponsor could be what somebody else wants so you have to wait til silly season to post that. I don't have a problem if you wanted to paint a car for the Mod now and attempt but know this it is difficult to make cup races starting out and just making them will be like a win

Bit of a side note here. We need more Dodge teams. So, keep that in mind.
