Daytona - A Blast From Daytona's Past Empty A Blast From Daytona's Past

Daytona...

Many of life's greatest stories have a rocky beginning, and Daytona International Speedway is no different. It took years of work, a(for the time) heavy financial cost, and with a high water table in the area, they were forced to build a Lake in the middle of the track. But from the very first race on this 2.5 Mile Tri-Oval nearly 60 years ago, it was clear that this track was gonna be special.

And as with many great stories, there are both good and bad moments that give Daytona the character and name that it has today. From some of racing's greatest finishes, to some of the most tragic moments in racing's history, the track built just a few miles away from the beach for which it's famous stands it's test of time.

In a few short days, Daytona will bring forth another new beginning. But this time, the scene will look oh so familiar to this long and storied track. "A Blast from the Past", a step back in time, to when things weren't quite so complicated, and when racing was less of a job, and more a way of life.

In a short while, these 31 racing machines will come roaring across these hallowed grounds, and the past and the present will meet once again. Young and old, seasoned and new, youthful exuberance and veteran experience. They will all come down to this place, a City once called "The Birthplace of Speed".

Some of racing's greatest names have shown their skills at this grand track. Who will be the next to put their names among it's storied history?

This is the beginning of a new era, starting from it's own beginning...

This is truly, "A Blast from Daytona's Past"...

This. Is...

Daytona.
