SILLY - 2019 Silly Season Empty 2019 Silly Season

Post by DKurtis July 11th 2018, 2:19 pm

Throughout a majority of the 2018 season, we have seen many teams rise to success. In the silly season, there are rumors that spread, announcements made, and potentially new teams arriving to the Hardee's National Series. Drivers will come and go, some will be re-signed to their respective rides, while others will remain as free agents for other teams to pick up on them as others move upwards into the ranks into becoming a Sony Cup Series driver. Teams will stay, and others may shut down. For many owners, this is extremely hard for them as they have to decide who they will let go, hire, or even keep. There's plenty of time for deciding, but sooner or later, that time will run out.

Owners get an opportunity to reclaim their numbers and sponsors for the 2019 season, and as for claiming new sponsors or new numbers, they will have to see if any other owners are going to take the sponsors or numbers they desire, but nonetheless, it will be a frenzy in obtaining sponsorship for their teams.

New sponsor claims will start September 1st

Team signups are closed, meaning no new teams can enter as there is a cap limit

The system is very similar to that of the Sony Cup Series system, where owners get to decide which drivers they think will best suit their team. They can decide whether to release a driver during the season if there is a justifiable reason (inactivity, underperforming, on/off track shenanigans). The driver hired can also voluntarily resign from the team, as long as the owner mutually agrees to the decision. Even so, drivers will have to be committed to their contract for the year, there's no turning back unless there are those reasons as stated earlier in this paragraph.

OOC: The signup format is still consistent, but the matter of posting a signups video on YouTube is still in question.

Car Count as of Now: 58 cars for 2019. (18 Chevy's, 20 Ford's, 12 Toyota's, 8 Dodge's)

Roush Family Racing will be changing hands as Scott Roush gives his brother, Robby Roush II, a chance to own the team. Robby has a engineering degree from Auburn University, so expect the chassis and all variables that RFR can control to improve.

RFR has also made the decision to drop down to 1 car after getting limited to no help from Rodriguez and Martin. Chances are that RFR will seek out help from Turner.

Rodriguez Racing keeps all 3 drivers for the 2019 season

Owner Matt Rodriguez confirmed that he and Luke Martin will be keeping all 3 drivers, as well as their primary sponsors for the 2019 season. All three of them have showcased impressive performances, and Rodriguez believes keeping Sean Angel, Aiden Shepherd, and Anthony Marchesi will bring them to the championship hunt in 2019. Ortho, Draw-Tite, and Cooper Standard will remain as sponsors for the team.

YAMP Motorsports returns to the Hardee's National Series for 2019

With Titanium struggling in performance, YAMP Motorsports have announced that they will obtain the #22 and #26 cars for the 2019 season, leaving Titanium with only 2 cars for 2019. It is rumored that it will most likely be Ford Mustang, as YAMP currently helps with the alliances they have within the Cup level. As for sponsors, they haven't been announced and will be most likely revealed later tonight or later on in the week.

Tommy Roberts Racing arises for the Hardee's National Series

An upcoming team has been built for the 2019 season, which is Tommy Roberts Racing. The owner himself has stated that he has been ready to build a team and see how well he could do in terms of performance. They have confirmed that the #58 will be their primary number, and the driver they will pick is up for many to theorize. The sponsors haven't been revealed yet, but will be revealed much later. The Ford camp has been increasing for the Hardee's National Series, and it showcases how popular of a choice Ford is, especially due to their success on the Sony Cup side with their multitude of championships.

Flying Aces Racing Confirms in Re-signing Alexander Rowe

First seasons are supposed to be hard, but thanks to Kurtis Racing and CM Racing, it hasn't been that bad. Driver Alexander Rowe has also been a great asset for the team already clicking off Top 20 finishes, even if he starts near the rear of the field. We hope to continue forward next season and start clicking off more Top 5's.

Jeff Davis: "One of the best things we can do for next season is to stick with at least one of the same drivers to continue building a notebook. Alexander Rowe sticking to our team will be our best choice for that. We also want to thank the guys at Kurtis Racing and CM Racing for helping us out. We know they have a continuing battle for the championship, but the help they give us is making us the way we are now."

Looking for a Second Car Next Season

Flying Aces Racing will be most likely fielding a second car in 2019, but it is unclear who the driver, number, and sponsor will be at the moment.

CM Racing, Kurtis Racing to Increase Alliance Support for Flying Aces Racing

2018 has been a great year for the called "Chevy Alliance" between CM Racing, Kurtis Racing, and the 1st-year Flying Aces Racing team, with CM Racing having won 4 races, Kurtis Racing having won 3 races, and Flying Aces Racing improving every race and currently inside the Top 20 in points.

With 2019 coming along, the "Chevy Alliance" between the 3 teams will be even closer, with CM Racing and Kurtis Racing giving additional technical resources and support to the Flying Aces Racing team next year, as FAR grows to a 2-car team next year.

Rodriguez Racing to field a 4th car for 2019

Owner Matthew Rodriguez has confirmed that they will enter a 4th car for the 2019 season. They announced that Eric Demax will pilot the #16 for a part time basis, the sponsors are unknown but will be revealed.

The son of Eugene Demax, Eric Demax has had his turns of ups and downs, and is currently running in the #5 for Mace Enterprises. With their HNS team shutting down at the end of the year, Demax was offered a ride for the Rodriguez Racing stable, only to be for a part time status. Demax took the offer. It is unknown on what tracks Demax will run.

Titanium Motorsports to shut down?

Rumors have escalated that due to the lack of performance the team has been going through these past couple of races, the team may cease operations at the end of 2018. YAMP had offered them support for several seasons, but at the end of this year they will not support the fellow Ford team afterwards. It may leave several drivers and crew members seeking to find a new team to work with.

Flying Aces announces their second driver

Flying Aces owner Jeff Davis has announced that they will be hiring Kyle Basaglia to the seat of the #25 Chevy Camaro for the 2019 season. Basaglia has showcased some consistency in the Ike Durbin Inc. ride by gathering several top 10s throughout the season. With the Kurtis/CM alliance helping out the team, it could surprise many drivers with the runs they may receive.

Davis: "We're going into next season looking for more Top 10s and possibly Top 5s. Having two solid veterans to our team. I completely believe that the 05 and 25 will both be able to contend for good positions throughout the season, and perhaps we might surprise people."
