Round 19 of Chicago

Post by FUEL on July 19th 2018, 1:41 pm

Heading into Round 19 on the schedule to start the second half of the season, the title fight has started to shape up. With half the season down, Jesse Turner, the point leader has stretched it out on many of the contenders for the title leaving it up to a 6 horse race for the title at this junction of the season. Turner holds a comfortable lead over Dom Caps in the standings by 35 points with Kurtis, Mace, Rodriguez and Baskinger lurking around 2 races back in the title race. For guys like Baskinger, he needs a good race weekend to bounce back into the title mix as he's been slowly dropping back while guys like Mace and Rodriguez have really turned up the heat. How will things shape up in Chicago?

D. Kurtis: "Alright, 14th, well sh*t. We're on the outside in this race, and that's gonna straight up suck. I'll have to manage what I can do. This new Q session is still murdering me, I have good race pace, but the Q pace isn't as present. Oh well, it's something I'm gonna have to fix."

J. Kurtis: "A mixed Q day for us, but both cars made the race. It's a matter of how they march up through the field."

6th, not in bad shape again. Jake did great! Carson did decent. But Caleb derped again. Can't afford to lose more ROTR opportunities if he's not in these shows.

Dodd: "17th isn't too bad, plus being on the bottom is an advantage here. Hopefully we can have a solid run, and come away with a good finish."

Tommy Turbo(President/CEO of CM Racing): "WOO, what a great job by both Porkins and Charlie getting both cars not only in the show, but inside the Top 30. But we are so impressed with Porkins making it to Q2, that is a fantastic way to start your 1st SCS race!"

D. Kurtis: "A shame that something broke the #19, we could've gained a bunch of points today. We'll have to work on the car so that we can be much stronger. I'd rather have some bad luck now than later. I really hope Llamas is OK, that was a terrible accident."

J. Kurtis: "We have some banged up cars tonight, but both cars got us some top 25s. Hernandez has been climbing up in points, so we could see him be up to par with Schwallenberg."
