2-Time Champion Jacob Hart will return for the Daytona 500
Reports coming in that the 2-Time Champion, 2-Time Daytona 500 Champion and 12-Time Winner of the Sony Cup Series, Jacob Hart, will be back behind the wheel yet again. Hart stepped down from full-time competition in 2017 but returned to Daytona to run the #2 Toyota for Fisher Motorsports in the Sony Shootout. Jacob Hart was in the talks to return to the Great American Race in 2019 driving for his own team but the plan has shifted for Hart.
Jacob Hart will drive the #20 Can-Am Toyota Camry for Rodriguez Racing in a one-off attempt at a record breaking attempt of a 3rd win in the Daytona 500. Hart is currently tied with Nicholas Korodovos and Sean Perkins for the most wins in the 500 mile event but is looking to stand alone as the most winning driver of the series most prestigious racing event held all year.
