Turner-Fenway Racing thread
Round 29 at New York, my home state. Many people got into trouble and hit the wall, including Jake. It was an okay round, top-10 by me, but the #17 and #97 are 1-2 in the points!

An interesting 30th round finds us at Karjala, Finland. The key was to keep our cars on the track, thankfully that's what we all did and brought home clean race cars. We've been fairly good on the road courses this season anyway, great that today was no exception.

Round 31 at Homestead. Pretty tough on the team, with Jake and Michael wrecking out. Both were victims of other peoples mess-ups. I got late race damage but was able to keep it straight and nearly get a top-10.

Hot-lanta for Round 32! We qualified in positions 22, 24, and 30. But as the race went on the three of us showed that our cars had good downforce and could suck up to other cars well, and that allowed us to move through the pack. Sadly, a CBM car tried to fit through a hole and caused a big wreck that took out the #97. Michael carried on to a top-15 run, but the last yellow helped the #17 get up to 4th on the last restart.

Brand new race track @ Willow Springs for the 33rd race of 2015. I love this place! Sucks for the 48 to get wrecked like he did, but I'll still take P2. Jake did awesome getting 4th, and Michael got trapped behind a wreck, but three more rounds for at least one of us to get a win!

Fontana California again with 3 rounds left. I kinda expected some back luck to hit me at some point, but on the first lap? That's crazy. I tried keeping it going til they parked me for being too slow. Happy that Jake got a good finish, and both he and I are true title contenders now!

All of us were a part of the Big One at Talladega, but I couldn't continue on. Even after wrecking again Michael carried on to a top-20 finish, and Jake ran good until he had to pit for fuel. Both the 97 and I have a chance to overtake the 48 in the points if he has problems and we can have a 1-2 championship finish. It'll be an awesome showdown between two great teams at DC!

We got us a championship guys!!! The whole race was wild from beginning to end, even though two of us didn't finish, we both are on the podium and the fans still enjoyed it! Thanks to all our sponsors and everyone at Ford racing for helping us out so much, this championship means a lot to what it can do for us next season. Michael White, hope you get a checkered flag in the #55 car in 2016 bud. Eric Burton, glad for you to join the team. Let's make some more noise down in Daytona in a few months!

Re: Turner-Fenway Racing thread
TFR being patient for Daytona speedweeks
Defending Sony Cup Series champion Jesse Turner and his self-owned Ford team has enjoyed the offseason well. With a driver championship, as well as a 3rd place championship finish for Jake Baskinger, TFR has a lot of winnings behind them. But the new year has begun, and all the SCS teams are gearing up for the 20th annual Daytona 500 speedweeks.
Turner will stay in his #17, and Baskinger remains in the #97. Joining the elite team this year will be Eric Burton, ironically returning to the same car number (#16) and manufacturer that he won the season 9 championship with. This team is expected to turn heads again this upcoming season, and will once again go head-to-head with other strong teams like Mace Enterprises, YAMP Motorsports, and FUEL Brothers. All three teammates are shown to be lined up in the same qualifying group, and will work out a strategy on how to approach it.
Until all the cars are parked in the garage in Daytona again, TFR will be waiting in the shadows ready to strike, and will plan to be in contention for a Daytona 500 victory.

Re: Turner-Fenway Racing thread
Strong Start, Bitter End for TFR in the Daytona 500
When the 20th annual SCS Daytona 500 went green, the three champion drivers at Turner-Fenway Racing felt really good about their chances for a great finish between the three of them.
Starting 7th was the new addition to the team, Eric Burton, starting 13th was the reigning SCS champ of Jesse Turner, and in 35th was Jake Baskinger. Baskinger struggled to find good speed all week long, but it didn't hinder his hopes to find a draft in the pack and get to the front.
Burton and Turner stayed in the top-10 for the beginning stages of the race but could never really challenge for the lead.
Then on lap 39, the #10 CBM car of Cody Llamas, last season's ROTY, had a mechanical problem in front of the pack going into turn 1. Turner went high on the track to avoid him but got clipped by the #1 of Kyle Collins. Jesse Turner's #17 Ford then went nose-first into the wall, got stuck in it, and rolled over in the air over Charles Sandfer's #88 car. He landed back on his wheels and walked away but his race would be over with a 40th place finish.
Problems would strike the team again, with Burton getting a penalty during pit stops, and he would fall a lap down. But Jake Baskinger kept being patient, and he would work his way outside the top-10 at the halfway point.
On lap 110 however, the biggest wreck of the race would occur when Skye Commons encountered mechanical trouble going into turn 1 and slowed down, much like Cody Llamas earlier. Since he was in 3rd, he couldn't get off the track, and Baskinger, while in the top-10, was the unfortunate one to plow into Commons. This would trigger an 18 car crash. Baskinger's #97 would flip over once and land on top of rookie Matt Duncan's #95 car, while Burton would get spun out by Matt Daleo in the #7 and go into the wall.
From lap 120 onward, only 15 cars would be left running in the race. Burton's #16 would be the only guy left to fight for the TFR camp. However the damage he sustained would not make him a factor, and he would draft with Skye Commons for the remainder of the race and finish 14th, two laps down.
Next race for the team will be the road course at Road Atlanta in Georgia.

Re: Turner-Fenway Racing thread
Sub-par Day for TFR @ Road Atlanta
The three TFR Fords all went down to Georgia to try and reverse their misfortunes after Daytona. But as the race unfolded, good luck would elude the team again and would ruin their chances to show what their cars can do.
Turner, Burton, and Baskinger's qualifying efforts didn't seem like much, but the crews wanted to tune their cars just right for them to handle good in the race.
Sadly because of the mistakes of other inexperienced drivers on the road course, Baskinger and Turner would get involved in an early pile-up, with Baskinger's damage being terminal.
Jesse Turner and Eric Burton would continue but Burton would have a tight handling condition for most of the race and finish mid-pack. Turner could only nurse his damaged #17 throughout the race and avoid any more trouble.

Well we tried our best to live the Las Vegas way, unfortunately not so much. Thanks to a few morons who went three wide, Jake had nowhere to go, same with Eric. Thankfully one of us at least got a top-10 and got home a good paycheck.

Fontana, another good place to show what we got in our speedway cars. Unfortunately for me, the car had an electrical problem on pit road and couldn't make it back out. Eric got caught up in a wreck, but way to go Jake for trying hard to get a good finish for the team.

I still do not get how we and other ford teams cannot finish a race. We have to do something about this.

Re: Turner-Fenway Racing thread
I don't think we would be so focused on Ford winning if it wasn't for our outstanding season last year, but even then usually no one should really be paying attention to what manufacture wins, but what driver wins.

Re: Turner-Fenway Racing thread
Onto Phoenix for the first time in SCS history, so everyone had a clean notebook for this race track. Jake sure had a good setup for his car, putting it on the pole and converting it into a top-5 finish in the race. Eric and I didn't have the days we really wanted. Both of us started pretty deep in the pack and had to weave through wrecks and fight all day to finish where we did. Hope to turn things around for everyone soon, and I hope one of us can get Ford's first win of the season.

Continuing the southern swing in the series at Texas World. Such a good, fun race track with sick racing. The crash that Burton was involved in was kinda heinous with people ARCA braking into it. But he's alright. Baskinger spun too and recovered. And I let everybody race each other ahead of me and I picked my way through it to get 2nd. Glad that our speedway program is turning around.

Race #7 at a rainy Willow Springs. Ran good here last time but sadly for all three of us that wasn't the same story. Two of us spun out and the other barely got a top-20 finish. Guess it's just one of those off weekends, but I know we'll rebound sooner rather than later and get a win or two.

Happy Easter! Race 8 at Oklahoma wasn't too kind to us. Baskinger was caught up in the one crash of the race. My car and Burton's car were both not the best of handling cars after a short while. Gotta keep our heads up though. The luck will turn the tables towards us eventually.
