OOC: Now before anyone says anything about this race and before anyone says their opinions, just watch the last 80 laps and trust me. That race to the end of the finish was INSANE. Everyone had a shot to win that race and it was insanely awesome to watch the end of that!

Spoiler:
Perkins shocked at 2nd Daytona 500 win

Sean Perkins climbed out of his #82 car in victory lane for his 2nd Daytona 500. The normally grumpy and opinionated Sean Perkins was quite joyous and sung the praises of his competitors after the race. "I know, Luke (Martin), Jordan (Davis), Nick (Mace) and myself have had our differences in the past. However they put on a Hell of a show during the closing stages of that race. I told everyone all last year, once you remove the idiots from the race, we can put on a good show. Now I know the fans would have liked to have seen more cars out there on track, however I think the SCS proved a point today. When Skye Commons had that issue and caused the big one, a lot of the younger and more inexperienced drivers fell out. Leaving the BEST drivers in the series to fight it out at the end. I have to thank Red Bull, Toyota, Luke Martin, and Jordan Davis for the help throughout the race. Plus I'll throw Nick in there too. Once we got some track to work with, we could throw some insane blocks on each other. Shove each other wherever we wanted, and work together to win the race. For the first time in a long time in this series, I did not have to worry about someone wrecking me once the final run took place. All 3 of them deserved the race win just as much as I did, IF NOT MORE! I have to watch the replay, but that finish might be the best we have had in a long time."

Perkins and the rest of the field will be back in action at Road Atlanta!

Collins: "We had a helluva car today, but got taken out too early and finished second last. Probably one of the worst ways to return to a series. I guess I can't let that get to me, next race I'll be on a brand new team and I greatly look forward to it."

Collins *Interview*: "Congrats to Perkins, although I would've loved to have been up there battling it out with y'all you really deserved the win. You put on one helluva fight."

Finguy I swear you're so bitter. Everyone battling for the win at the end DESERVED IT. Just because it just so happened to be Perkins doesn't mean he deserves the hate. That was a great finish and everyone put on a great show and just because you don't like the guy don't mean you should just be an asshole like that. Treck Tauger could of won and I would of said he deserved it! Hung in the back of the field all beginning of the race and battled for it in the final 5 laps at the front! Anyone could of won and it was NOT rigged what so ever, there was no way Perkins had an advantage, we saw Mace, Davis, Kurtis, Tauger, Martin, Young all up there taking turns being real big threats besides him. I don't understand why people can say he didn't deserve it. Everyone did, they raced insanely hard at the end as if they knew the race was about to end and that this race was one of the biggest races of their lives!

Everyone honestly needs to shut up... If you have allegations that the race was fixed then you must have not watched it then. Noah is really upset about this because he feels that the race was one of the best. And it was a damn good one! People bitching about the results being fixed are exactly why NR2003 series are dying out. It is because league owners have to put up with shit like this. Secondly, how on earth can you fix a race at DAYTONA? It's random! If you would have seen the race, you would have noticed that!

I'm sorry. I'm not saying it's rigged. I'm not saying that because of grudges. Everyone remembers Finguy's rookie season. He was an ass and well. There you go. Was I saying it was rigged? HELL NO. Was I salty. Well, yes. But that comment was the driver's thoughts. Not mine.

Clearly I'm the badguy. Clearly because of one thing. ...I'm sorry. Moving on to Round 2.

Davis:No skin off my back who the winner was. I could care less if a SuperSpeedway programed team wins at a SuperSpeedway. People need to stop being mad for no reason. It's probably one of the easiest tracks to race around, and a team that goes out of their way to win at those tracks won there.

OOC: I'm mad too I'm not saying it's rigged but I am pissed that a team that came outta nowhere has been dominating Speedweeks. If anything RedBull should be doing as well as Allen Family Racing Team. They're a new team, all three of their drivers did lackluster in 2015, and they are using factory Toyota engines. I'm with #BadguyFinguy

Vincent: 25th "Man what a disappointing Daytona 500 for this 84 team. I wanna thank them for giving me the best car that i've ever had for speedweeks. If we run like that consistently, we'll get our fair share of good results. Oh by the way...... Sean's buying dinner tonight! Hot damn what a race!"

Andreas: 39th "I honestly didn't see that wreck coming.Just haven't had any 500 luck lately..... Also we need to improve our plate program, hayden and ryan didn't even have a chance out there....... I also wanna announce while I'm here.... That 2016 is my final full year as an active competitor behind the wheel of a stock car, I feel like its about time for me to ride off into the sunset. I wanna focus on my family and running this team.... and helping the younger generation come up. My final start will be where it all began... the 2017 Daytona 500."

James: "Had a great run in this 62 car, and I thought we had the car to at least get a top 10, but Skye Commons messed us up. We had been hanging in the back, purposely avoiding danger, and I got into turner and flipped him, and that damage took me out, I got a lucky top 25. I hope I can improve this season, but we really had a shot here."

OOC: WHY is everyone complaining about Perkins winning? I don't care that red-bull is a powerhouse, that was a good race and Noah could not of fixed it. TBH, If MACE had won I would be mad, but at the same time he is an extremely good driver, so I would've understand

Re: 20th Annual Daytona 500

Post by Mr.YAMP on February 10th 2016, 12:10 pm

OOC: my biggest problem is it was the same 8 cars for over 75 laps. To a lackluster ending that was decided by lap cars and not the best car. I felt like I was watching a Pokemon Cup Series race with good commentary. That is my biggest problem.
2nd problem is Red Bull is a new team with 3 drivers who didn't finish in the top 25 in points for 2015. If your defense is, "well it's red bull" that's not good enough. They shouldn't be doing better than Allen Family. They both have 3 cars with 3 drivers that are older.

OOC: Honestly it was personally one of my favorite finishes to an SCS race. The way the cars behaved on track looked very realistic. The drivers were throwing blocks on each other with aggression. Slingshotting, passing on the outside, the race had everything. I feel had the field not been reduced as much, the race wouldn't have nearly been as good. More cars on track = less room for drivers to work with. Remember the first part of the race wasn't terribly good to be honest. Plus I don't think that wreck took out anyone that was a serious threat. I think there were 5 cars that could have won that race. 5, 48, 82, 6, and the 8 (Who fell out with an engine problem).

OCC: I can see where you are coming from, truthly I do. But, it doesn't matter. That was one race out of 40, for all we know that could've been a fluke for Red Bull. Perkins is also a good driver so I can see why he did so well, it's almost like Pericles on Mountain Dew really. But let's move on, it's only an NR2003 race and we don't want Noah to stop making races because of all the hate. And I mean, as of recently for some reason he has been getting quite a bit. (For the chase, this race, the contract stuff, etc).

And to compare this to a Pokemon Cup Series race is crazy. This race kept you on your toes the whole time wondering who would win. In TA2's PCS races I would typically skip to the end and hope my driver didn't crash because a lot of his races are crash, crash, crash, and more crashes. (That's why I quit, because the no-realism was killing me). But I can't hate on TA2 because he obviously works hard on his series.

Enough said for me, I'm moving on. Congrats to Perkins, and great job on the race Noah.

Noah: sucks we got taken out, just couldn't see anything with the oil kicked up on my windshield when Caps blew up and plowed over him. Ending our day. With the way the run for the championship is, win a race in the first 30 races and you're in the chase. We have now until Round 30 to find that win.
