Skye Commons' Contract Ends...
Skye Commons signed a contract at the beginning of the year with Martin Motorsports, the contract was made til June 2016. So at anytime in June 1st-30th, Owner Luke Martin could either extend his contract or release him. Martin ahead of time told Commons he would no longer drive for him heading into Homestead. Bradley Bishop Jr. being the up and comer being helped out by Martin with his own team this year and was put in the car last year on a part time schedule, Martin has hired Bishop Jr. to take the ride of the #9 Ford for the rest of the year. Bradley Bishop Jr. has also made it public that he still wants to keep his #3 out there running and what do you know? Skye Commons is the driver! Skye Commons got released but picked up a ride right after. Commons' with 50 consecutive race starts carrying over from last year will stay in tack and Commons' will continue his season with Titanium Motorsports still pursuing the title. Skye Commons sits 18th in points 19 points behind Jake Baskinger who holds 16th the final Chase spot.
We made Team Contracts early this year in order to have Teams have a secure driver where drivers can't leave their team (Redbull and Skye Commons during the off season) and where drivers can't be randomly fired for little to no reason (Martin Motorsports and Kyle Collins and Nick Pericles last year). I feel like these team contracts work very well, with Martin wanting to release Commons he had to wait until June to do so because that was the contract. A good bit of drivers coming this summer in July and August will also have contracts that are up. They could either be released or hired on but I feel like this is a good thing to have! Skye Commons was kept in the ride like he was promised until June and then was released. This Team Contracts thing keeps drivers secured in their promised rides and also saves teams from losing drivers who randomly want to up and leave for another team! It's a good deal and I'm glad its working. Skye Commons got a fair releasement from Martin Motorsports which is a plus compared to what was happening last year.

Re: Skye Commons' Contract Ends...
Bishop Jr: I'm really a grateful for this opportunity to race for Martin Motorsports. I hope this'll be a good rest-of-the-season for me. Maybe the first race or two will be a tad iffy since I once again have to get used to top tier equipment but I think I may be able to pull off a win.
Randy McBlair: We're glad to announce Skye Commons as the new driver of the #3. There is a chance we might have him share the ride with another driver, but that is unknown. The full details about what'll happen to the #3 will be released sooner rather then later.
