2016 Sprint Cup Series Silly Season

So Alex Bowman and TBR have parted ways. Cannot say I am too suprised I was a little suspicious when Bowman signed a deal with Jr. to run Xfinity races that conflict with Cup races making the weekend a bit more challenging especially for a small team. Still is a shame though since they signed a pretty early deal for a small team and just wrapped up a big sponsorship deal. Assuming the Toy State deal is still in place this could be a good ride for one of the many free agents however I see Cole Whitt getting the ride but Regan Smith would not be a big shock either. Maybe even Ryan Preece could go full time and join this year's already great ROTY class.

LFR and Circle Sport merged. That means LFR is now Chevy and RCR is supporting. First action RCR does is puts Ty Dillon in the 95 for Daytona. Smh

It may be Regan Smith, I read that somewhere. Either way, it is sad that he got that contract and then it got cut, I thought they had a shot to take their team up a notch this year. But I wouldn't mind Regan Smith in that car.

Yeah, Michael McDowell deserved at least that ride for Daytona, if not the full season, but that is how the money goes nowadays.

At least from what I have seen, although I cannot find an official announcement, they will run a second team at Daytona for McDowell. Hopefully they find more funding to keep that car going for all of the 10 races McDowell does not have a ride for. It is at least a big step overall and I hope McDowell does well and does not get thrown to the side for Ty in the future.

I've also heard from somewhere that David Ragan may be racing for BK Racing in the#23 so I added that to the silly season. (It was also on Wikipedia which means I cannot be the only one that's heard this).

Nope, I heard that too. In fact, he may even be driving several of the exact same cars he drove last year, cause BKR bought the cars from MWR.

Well, at least I like Regan Smith, and he is a big improvement IMO, but still feel bad for Bowman. Hope he gets a shot, at least in the Xfinity series.

McDowell is racing in the Daytona 500 but possibly in another # for LFR and Circle Sport. Possibly the 33 car

For clarification, like Baskinger said, McDowell will be in a second LFR car for the 500 and a few other races so Dillon can run the 95. When Dillon isn't in the 95 McDowell will be, so he's still running the full season.

I know. Ty is getting the Car Owner points for Daytona.

ok i thought so. and ty and michael are sharing the same ride. they just released the schemes and both are the #95. i'm not sure there will be a second. maybe for the 500 but not any after

Dibenedetto's still in the #83 at BK Racing, but Ragan's now the new face of the #23. Back to a small-team role for him, but I don't think he'll do too bad.
