SUMS Confirming returning to the SCS in 2017, will continue tech alliance with FBR

SUMS has announced that they will be staying in the series. Coming in 2016, the future looked bleak for this single car team, however, the Driver of the #14, Sean Harple, contributed to several top 15's and kept the doors open. Harples preformence was so strong, Fuels Brother Racing (FBR) offereed both a tech deal and a driver swap to the team, giving them new life. "We are happy with this exchange. And now, we are pleased to announce that SUMS will continue into 2017, with continued tech support from the FBR group," stated Jeremy Stroker (Team Principle SUMS) at a press conference a few hours ago. The real question now is, who will replace Harple now that he has signed for FBR next season? Only time will tell.

Roush: I am glad to hear that another one of the teams are going to stay in SCS, it's always sad when you hear that a team has shut down

SUMS Announces new sponsors

Going into 2016, SUMS racing lost its 2 previous sponsors, and barely managed to grab the petronas sponsorship. However, as the 14 has improved 2 more sponsors have announces intrests in sponsoring the 14 car. The German airline Luftansa has announced they will be signing on, returning to the 14 after a one year absence. Also, Mailing company DHL has also announced sponsorship of the 14. "We are still working on a few kinks in the deals, such as when and where each scheme is run, but it is great to have so many people at the negotiation table." Stroker commented on Friday. Only time will tell if SUMS will be able to use these sponsors to their adavantage. Also, questions of retro schemes have begun circulating, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

SUMS Announces that they have sign a driver deal with UAE motors

SUMS Motorsports, In order to prepare for Hayden Kline's return to the SCS, has announced a peaceful deal with the Hardees National Series team UAE motors. SUMS needs a backup driver, and even though FBR could provide a backup, SUMS would like to have one hand in case Kline feels uncomfortable in the car. The Driver of the 34, which will be Barakated, will be expected to be called up in an emergency. "This is the beginning of a friendship. There are talks of a merger of these teams, but it most likely wont come into effect until 2018. We just need to have a backup we can call even at the last minute," Stroker Commented at a press conference after sanoma. "FBR is our tech alliance guy, but we do not want to throw a wrench in their operation with an injury. We got Jacob (Hart) this season only because Harple needed time in a better car. We make this deal with full intentions of buying this team in 2018, so we arent betraying the FBR-SUMS alliance, as this is just a Driver deal, not a tech deal."
