So hey there fellas! Welcome to the new year! We got a different team name this time around. But I feel confident that 2018 will be just as good, if not better than how 2017 turned out to be. We tied for the most team wins with 9, with everyone on the team going to victory lane at least once last season. Daytona testing went really good, with our Fords consistently posting top-10 speeds all day long. Stoked to get Daytona Speedweeks started in March, until then we'll prepare for it as much as we can and make sure the competition knows we mean business.

2018 TPR driver lineup:
#17: Jesse Turner - 8 career wins, 2015 champion
#27: Carson Scott - 1 career win (Chicagoland 2 2017)
#94: Caleb Hoffman (R) - 3 career starts (4th place in debut @ South Boston 2017)
#97: Jake Baskinger - 7 career wins, Season 15 champion

Yesterday we took a crack at the Sony Shootout. My first ever time getting to be a part of the action in this race thanks to my pole at Texas World. Overall I'm pleased with how we ran. Jake and I stayed in the top half of the pack all race long, and if only I would've been able to help Jake on the last lap he definitely would've gotten by Dajon one way or another. Btw what a sick save by Luke in turn 3! Glad he carried on after that.

Pole qualifying is complete, and three out of us are locked into the show via speed! Carson's gonna have his work cut out for him unfortunately, though I feel comfortable enough for him to slice his way through the field and get it done. Duel updates coming soon.

The Twin 125's are complete! Now only one more objective to go. Very pleased with how the first duel went for Caleb and myself (checkered flag baby!!!). My respect for Caleb increased with each lap, we communicated really well and it all paid off as a result of it. Duel 2 was a mixed bag of feelings. Carson was in the lead pack all day and ended up 4th. Very smooth race for him! And the one sour moment for both races was Jake being in the wrong place at the wrong time in turns 3 & 4, so he'll need a backup car. Otherwise, get pumped guys. The 22nd annual Great American Race is on the horizon!

Turner: winner of duel 1, starting 3rd (10th Daytona 500 appearance)
C. Scott: 4th in duel 2, starting 10th (2nd Daytona 500 appearance)
Hoffman: 5th in duel 1, starting 11th (1st Daytona 500 appearance)
Baskinger: crashed in duel 2, starting 31st (12th Daytona 500 appearance)

Our Daytona 500 adventure is finally over. Time to recap!
Everyone seemed to get in line really well early in the race, until the first big crash of the day happened in turns 1 & 2. Carson looked like he would make it through unscathed until Josh Crash spun to the bottom of the track and they both made contact. His day would end early. We carried on after that, hanging just fine in the pack, then Sean Perkins and Eric Demax gave each other no room in turn 1 and put Caleb and myself into the wall, giving us damage that would make our cars not be competitive for the rest of the race. Later on, Ryan Acosta got pushed down to the apron going into turn 3 and he didn't blend back in with the pack and caused another crash. This time, Caleb would be knocked out of the race for good. Jake was also involved but received minor damage. Fortunately Jake would still be able to run with the lead draft, keep up with pit stops, and he ended the day with the best finish among us. Rockingham is up next guys!

Round 2 of Rockingham is in the books! Started off kinda slow at the start of the weekend, but we all eventually got our ground towards the end and it wasn't all that bad of a day for each of us. At least we all raced a clean race and didn't come away with any kind of damage (phew!). I got fortunate to stay on the lead lap during that ill-timed caution, but sadly my car was tougher to handle during that last run and faded to 6th. Heading off to the west coast for California next weekend! Get ready guys!

Just finished racing at California Speedway for the 3rd race of the year. This track demands power and speed, as well as good car control in tight packs. Fortunately for a certain someone on the team, everything fell his way. Jake qualified 3rd and spent much of the first half of the race in the top-3. Although his crew had a bad pit stop late in the going, even that couldn't stop how good his car was, and he steadily moved his way through traffic until he got to DJ to overtake him for the lead. At the end, Jake gets his 8th career win in the SCS! Me and the Aflac team put together a 4th place run. Unfortunately Caleb and Carson got involved in the same crash off turn 2, eliminating Carson and hindering Caleb's car for the day.
Btw my prayers are with Charles Sandfer and Hayden Kline, after their horrible crash on the front-stretch. They're good guys, but they're tough as nails and I wish them well on their recoveries and getting back in a race car as soon as possible.

"The series went down to Georgia, lookin' for a checkered flag to steal..."
Yes, our 4th race of the season, as well as my milestone 200th career start, would be at the legendary Atlanta Motor Speedway for some quick speeds and tire wear that's like no other track. Jake got an amazing jump at the start, and was in his own zip code for the first few runs of the race. But he would soon be faced with a swarm of fellow Fords after a yellow before the halfway mark. Dom Caps, Matthew Rodriguez, Cody Llamas, Steven Jenkins, and myself would each take turns leading the race up until the final green flag run. But when Jenkins unexpectedly came down pit road with 3 to go, that took us all by surprise. Caps would get the win, with Jake following close behind. Nice job by Caleb taking his first Rookie of the Race award away from Dylan Schwallenberg in the final laps! Carson would quietly crack into the top-15 at the end, being the second car one lap down after Jenkins' troubles.
Glad that all of us finished inside the top-15 with barely any scratches on our rides. This race weekend turned out okay! Going to the Volunteer State next for some short track thrills! Smile

Our 5th race of the year brings us to a track some of us haven't been to in a while, and that a couple of us have never seen before. It's Baer Field baby! Me lapping everyone but DJ Kurtis in the first segment was the good moment of the night for me. But we all advanced through our segments and made the final segment. I immediately took off, but I couldn't find anywhere to hide as Jeffery Finguy ended up passing me. Carson sadly got spun by him as well and couldn't bounce back from that. I managed to work my way back by Finguy again. Then... came the moment I hate to recall lol. Chris Dodd and Jake were playing rough coming out of turn 4. Dodd ended up getting turned around, and I was the unfortunate soul who ran into him first. Still earned my best finish at this track, but it sucks to think of what could've been. Great job by Caleb getting a top-10 run and winning ROTR for the second straight race.

Btw kudos to Silverfox being able to drive away after barrel rolling 7 times in the first segment Shocked Thumbs up

We're back from racing on the dirt at the Springfield mile in Illinois! Things got off to a great start early, with Jake swinging it three wide to move by Jeffery Lynn and me for the lead. He slayed the field, trapping most drivers a lap down, when an untimely caution hit the track. Carson was one of the beneficiaries of the yellow so that gave him a good chance as well. Sadly, Lynn's car turned out to be stronger when it counted and passed Jake with a handful of laps to go. But it was nice that a few of us ended up with strong finishes despite all the craziness that happened out there on the dirt.

New Hampshire was our 7th race of the season. Qualifying worked out well for the Fords again, so the race was pretty much gonna come down to any of us. The race had a good pace all day to it. Rodriguez was putting up the biggest fight against me trying to run down Caps. Once I did get by him, there was no time left to run down the 6. Close call by Jake, as he suffered the team's 1st engine failure of the season, thankfully he still came around to finish 7th as it happened off the last turn. Gonna turn left and right on the Cleveland road course for next time.

Back from the Cleveland airport course for the first left-and-right race of 2018. Rain was a major obstacle for everyone the entire weekend, with qualifying being canceled and the field having to start on owner points. Right off the bat going into turn 1, someone didn't brake fast enough, and created a log jam that reached the pole-sitter of Jake and turned him around with other cars. I was on the inside lane at the right time and took off with the lead. But many people played off-sequence pit strategies, and DJ Kurtis ultimately had the best one and came home with the win. Not too happy with the 78 blatantly dumping Caleb in the turn when he didn't need to. Thankfully Caleb had another good run and got the ROTR award. But we'll be sure to remember that.

Headed up to the Pocono mountains in PA for our 9th race of the year. Unfortunately no yellow flags flew to bunch everyone back up again, so you couldn't afford any mistakes or you'll put yourself behind the 8-ball for the rest of the day. Jake and I were fast again, but those guys ahead of us managed to run away and hide before we could do anything with them. Still a nice day to keep our momentum going, as well as my top-10 streak! I feel certain we'll put one of our cars in victory lane again before you know it.

Made an unexpected and pleasant turn into Richmond VA for our 10th race of 2018. Once again, the race went caution free, and many guys who fell back early were in for a tough night ahead. Myself included. Tire was going low and had to make a green flag pit stop early. Thankfully we recovered for a nice run, but my eight-race top-10 streak came to an end. Jake slayed the field as always and got a great run. Caleb did good capturing the ROTR award again. And lady luck didn't deal a good hand with Carson, as it was a forgettable race for him. You know what's next guys. TALLADEGA!

Well, Talladega was a wild one. Not in the sense that you think. We had our big one, that unfortunately took out Caleb. Adding insult to injury, Jeffery Finguy tipped him over right at the end of it. Race went green the rest of the way. Jake had a tire problem which split up the pack, so that made me the only one on the team that had a shot at victory. Almost got there though. I sized up TJ Martin on the backstretch with a 1/2 lap to go, then the lapped Ryan Acosta unnecessarily passed me going into turn 3, which ended my shot at a win. But on the flipside, TJ got his first win in just his 3rd start driving for our affiliate #34 car for United Emirates Racing. Nice to help them out with that. Next race will be at Charlotte for a good, entertaining show under the lights.

After race 12 in Charlotte NC, there's a lot to reflect on. Pleased with all our speeds during the race. Sadly for Jake, he struck some bad luck and the engine let go on his #97 Ford, a rare occurrence for our team. Me and the #17 crew got out to a big lead before halfway through the race. Jordan Davis in the #5 ran us down, then that yellow stacked us up again. Carson, Caleb, and myself all managed to stay on the lead lap. I had a sweet battle with Davis and the #31 of Sean Harple all throughout the last stage of the race. But with 3 to go, I ran low on fuel and had to pit. Same thing with Harple a lap later, that really is too bad what happened to him. Davis managed to stretch his fuel mileage to pick up another win this year. Carson finally gets to be the highest finisher out of us for once, kudos to him and his crew for a job well done. And nice job to Caleb for getting another ROTR award, and making a statement to the other rookies that if they want to be ROTY, they gotta go through him.

Raced at Road Atlanta in GA for another road course start for all of us this season. Keeping your car under control was a big theme that I noticed out of the race, as several people were guilty of running and bumping people off the track and playing too rough out there. Such as on the first lap when Zaedin Davidson used me and Matt Rodriguez as brakes and we all went off track. I still kept the lead but had to take extra time on pit road to fix the damage, and that put me too far back to catch up for the win. The rest of us, except for Carson who was the race's first retiree, managed to have exceptionally good days and bring our cars home.

Wrapped up race #14 in the Lone Star state of Texas! For me and the #17 team, our day was composed of a rollercoaster of events. From taking two tires and falling back in the order on a green flag run, to marching my way back up with fresh tires again, to getting through a multi-car pileup, then to make my way back up to the top-10 again. Jake, Caleb, and Carson were all put in a box during that big one, which gave Carson terminal damage, and it gave Jake enough damage to not be competitive. Caleb soldiered on and got another ROTR award, so he's executing his job perfectly.

Back from America's heartland in Kansas. I gotta tell you, this was a weird race weekend to say the least. We began our trip to KS with Caleb spinning out in qualifying and getting the first DNQ in TPR's history. We go onto the race, with the other three of us settling in and making game plans for the rest of the race. Then (bleep) hit the fan going into turn 1 when Jordan Davis came up into his own teammate of Nick Mace, who was about to lap him. The ensuing wreck took out many good cars. Jake retired out of the race, and I got damage that would cripple my car. Fortunately Carson made it through, and would be the lone guy to fight for the win amongst us. He would eventually get up to the lead and lead the most laps during the race's final stretch. But with 2 to go, a slower Hayden Kline came up the track in front of Carson, similar to what Davis did earlier, stuffed him in the wall, and thus handed the win over to PJ Williams. We really feel bad for Carson after that one, looked like he was gonna find some saving grace for our team if that didn't happen. But we still have half the season remaining to try our best and keep making some noise.

Tackled Daytona again for our latest race. A different kind of package for us to deal with again, with no restrictor plates. Didn't matter much, cause we ended the night in victory lane!!! Thankful for my crew giving me a nice piece to work with during the night, and Jake was up there too so we could reinforce our places amongst the leading cars. Anyway, beyond pumped to get TPR back to victory lane, and extend my points lead. My home state race in Watkins Glen, NY is next on our schedule!

Raced on the road course of Sebring in FL to get back to real business. Talk about wacky from the first lap. After starting on the front row with Cody Llamas, we both got tangled up and went off the track when Jordan Davis made a three-wide move on us. That incident would give us a poor finish and would cost us a number of points. Jake would also get caught up in an incident early on and he would retire. Oil left behind by Dylan Schwallenberg on the last lap would cause a wild finish to happen, with Davis spinning out in the oil and Matt Rodriguez capitalizing on that to take the checkers again. None of us walked out of here with a top-10, though Caleb was close to getting one. Heading across the border into Canada for next time!

Wrapped up our race weekend in Canada. Not too complicated of a road course, eh? Fortunately there were no real big incidents to slow the field down, so it was a fair battle for the win all day. Pit strategy scrambled everyone up. Jake's crew had a good plan in mind, but Jeffery Finguy and the majority of the top runners worked out their plans a little better than him. Happy for us to come home with clean cars, and that we can leave here not that frustrated.

Chicago was great in some ways, and frustrating in other ways. On the negative side, Caleb ran into misfortune again in qualifying and didn't make the field. Jake won the pole at least, but in the early stages his car didn't come to him early and lost many positions. Cody Llamas would suffer a hard crash on the second lap, impacting the wall with the roof of his car. He won't be at Indy next week, so we're hoping he has a speedy recovery. I held my own for a while in the top-10, until Sean Harple made a three-wide move on me and Dom Caps on a restart. I then slid up into Caps, we both hit the wall and I soon went for an upside-down rollercoaster ride down the straightaway. Carson would get caught up in another crash later on. But hats off to Jake for making it through the wrecks and charging up to the front when it counted. 2nd win of the year! Thankful that his win allowed us to find a silver lining out of this race weekend at least.

We're back from the Brickyard! This race is very prestigious, so you had to make sure your game plan was good enough to give you a chance at greatness when the checkered flag falls. Unfortunately for Caleb and Jake, their chances would get wiped out almost immediately. Andreas Allen would get dumped in the north chute, spinning right in front of those guys. Not what they needed by any means, especially Jake, in the points battle. That left Carson and I to carry the banner for the team. A few lapped cars would be an annoyance to us in the lead pack all day really, which resulted in some breakaways. Green flag pit stops altered the course of the field as well, leaving it to be between myself, Ryan Griffin, Dajon Weeks, and Dom Caps to get after it for the win. Ultimately when Weeks got up front, he would never relinquish it and would grab the first checkered flag of his SCS career. Nice to watch that battle between he and Griffin from my front windshield.
