Jenkins Wins In First... And Only Race Of The Year?

Earlier this week Luke Martin said he needed a driver for just South Boston afterwards he'd be able to go the distance in the next round but Shaun Gallighan had moved off to Swagger Motorsports. Steven Jenkins was called up to be the driver for just one round. Jenkins failed to qualify to Titanium at Decatur and Daytona the rounds before this event. Martin also said he wanted Jenkins to replace Gallighan in the National Series on his team. Well during the weekend it was noted that Steven Jenkins will no longer be running in the Cup series after South Boston for the rest of the year. Well... Jenkins went out and won the race leading the most laps and holding off Matthew Rodriguez who came from 41st starting position to come runner up. Martin Motorsports has great cars and equipment however they only had 1 win so far this season coming with Luke Martin at Darlington! Jeff James right now sits 2nd in main points while Aaron Taylor and Bradley Bishop Jr have came close to wins on many occasions. However Steven Jenkins with the upset win was cheered on by the fans. It was a great win by someone who hardly ever has any glory in the series. The underdog win at Daytona in 2015 and Jenkins expected to just run a nice solid race went out and won it. However even after his win... Jenkins will not have a Cup ride which is so surprising!

Gosh I remember him holding me off for the win at Daytona in a defunct Ravenwest car.

I wish I could put him in the car for more than a race, but there is no room on the team right now. At least I gave him the 6 car in HNS for the rest of the season. Hopefully he continues his winning over there.

Bishop Jr: Ravenwest is the reason I'm where I'm at in my career. Gotta love them, even if they did buy their equipment from... David... Son Motorsports... But I guess with Jenkins pulling off that win me and Aaron are gonna have to work x10 harder to try and keep our spots for 2017.
