Blue Flare Motorsports lately has been turning things around having #51 Ricky Johnson and #81 Alan Cavagnaro run well at South Boston and the team backed it up with having #61 Nick Pericles and #41 Sean Perkins qualify well and run well. While Pericles and Perkins were easily Top 15 cars the whole race they didn't make much moves towards to the lead however when pit stops rolled around #41 team saw how difficult it was to make passes and rolled the dice on a gas only pit stop getting Perkins out P1. However the call looked great it didn't last. Perkins came over the radio and said he still had no fuel. The team feared they might have a fuel pick up problem and that was the case. Perkins came to pit road once to try and fix the issue but only returned to the track to run out of gas due to fuel pick up problems. The team nearly stole their first points paying victory. Pericles had a bad pit stop fell to finish 19th but Cavagnaro gained during pit stops to finish 22nd and Perkins finished the race behind the wall in 41st.

Sean: I tried everything trying to get it running. Swapped it over to power pack #2 trying to see if it might have been a battery issue. I tried priming it by flooding it, and it did nothing. It's a darn shame, because I thought I had it at that point.

Sean: I learned that the Blue Flare isn't as easy to re-fire as the Red Bull was. It also is pretty difficult to diagnose problems compared to the Red Bull. The Blue Flare handles a lot better then the Red Bull though.

Pericles:" I Swear My Team Took Forever to Top on Fuel. I could have been running top 10. Although Sean did a great job with the Fuel Call, I was surprised. I Should have done the same thing and maybe help him out."

Pericles:" I will say this, though If I don't get signed by FBR; I'd rather not go anywhere else and stay with Perkins to attempt to bring back the hype to this team and organization. With all honesty we have the son of a legend, Sean Perkins; a Legend himself, along with another Legend Alan Cavagnaro, and then Me; I'd like to say I'm a pretty good driver. Not being cocky just assessing my talents."

Pericles:" Last thing I will say, I Was Confident When Tauger was in the #41, I'm Still Confident and Excited to See what Perkins can do in the Blue Flare. Also, Kick some ass over there in Red Bull Tauger!"

Freeman: Well, some may find it difficult to hear, but Perkins just showed me what I like in a driver. Instead of just being nice and telling us good things about our equipment, he's giving us tips we can and will use to improve our equipment. It'll be harder to work on all that this year, but where we're dropping down to a 2 car next year we'll be focusing on little things like that much more.
