Jake Baskinger Speaks Out To Media Empty Jake Baskinger Speaks Out To Media

Coming into New York, Jake Baskinger is here to take part of the drivers media center question and answer session and he has some important news to share. Jake Baskinger another driver, like Kline, was injured near the half way point of this season. This caused huge up roars for the new car and safety was a big deal. After Baskinger's wreck at Decatur we saw 3 straight races after it with no yellow flags or accidents. Drivers felt sad and awful to see something happen to such a big named driver. Jake had finished 3rd in the title fight last year and was in position to make the chase sitting 16th in points at the time of his accident. Jake Baskinger the Season 15 Champion has faught a hard recovery from breaking his legs in a head on accident into Decaturs earth surface wall so this recovery was a lengthy one. Turner Fenway has been behind their driver though. Jake is on the rise as he is finally healthy enough to race however Baskinger is taking precautionary measures and staying out of New York, Ohio and Willow Springs the next 3 races.

Jake: I didn't want to come back to New York or Willow Springs because if I jump back in the car and get in a bad wreck at New York that'll make things a lot worse than it already is. Willow Springs you have to do a lot of shifting and I just don't think it would be the smartest race to participate in. California is going to be the race I finally make my return back. I figure it would be nice to return for my first back at a track pretty special to me. California has been good to us we had a Top 5s there last year in both races so I'm confident we can run well again. We are going to go into it hoping to do well and have a nice solid race and maybe even win it. This recovery was not easy at ALL but I'm not a quitter, I'm an athlete and I'll do what I have to, to be ready and go racing again and that's what I've done so I can't wait to get back in the car.

Glad to have Jake back in one our fast Fords again in a few rounds. Won't be too long before he gets back to his old self once he's buckled in there. Maybe get a W or two before the year ends.
