I'm still just cringing that the Leavine Family Racing hasn't been fixed yet. Its still Leviene.

Not doubting it, but I haven't heard much else about it so I'm kind of waiting to hear this directly from JTG or Buescher himself.

How someone like Gray Gaulding got a full time Cup ride baffles me.

Hope mears gets a ride at a good team.
There are three things I am hoping could happen with Mears
A. He gets a ride at RCR
B. Goes into free agency and gets a better ride
C. LFR

Re: 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Silly Season
McDowell is already announced to return to LFR and they don't plan on running a full-time second car, so I don't see that happening.
Re: 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Silly Season
Roush-Fenway will be downgrading from a 3-Car team to now a 2-Car team. The charter from the 16 will now go to JTG-Daughtry. And their new driver, Chris Buescher. Making JTG a 2 car team.

There's a chance that he might be with the team anyway--the team is apparently teaming up with Circle Sport to run two cars next season.
Kind of hope he gets a better ride, though.
Re: 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Silly Season
So many car additions/reductions...
Furniture Row = +1
Circle Sport = +1?
Roush = -1
JTG = +1
Here are my thoughts on Silly Season So far
Roush: I have said it all along, Jack Roush does not move with the times. I have been told that I have been crazy, but I think this shows it. Roush used to be a dynasty back in the mid-2000's. Now they are a 2 car, mid-field team. I can't see them improving either. Bayne is mediocre at best. Stenhouse has under-performed since day #1. Biffle was never a driver I considered very good. I really don't think Biffle will be around next year. He will have a quiet retirement and he will join the likes of Jack Smith and Speedy Thompson. Both good drivers but fell to obscurity.
Hendrick Motorsports: Why does Kahne have a ride with them. He is absolutely trash and I fail to see the point of him being there. Especially when it was clear that Alex Bowman is the real deal (I called this during his first Nationwide Start). Jr will be around until he has another concussion, and then he will call it quits. Bowman will once again play super-sub. Johnson I think is the best driver in NASCAR history. Just saying. Chase Elliot will become a bright young talent next year. I think he will score a win at some obscure track like Richmond or something.
Penske: I got nothing. It is clear that they are now the #1 Ford Team. I know some people will still say Roush is, but that is clearly not the case.
JGR: They have the best lineup in NASCAR right now. All four drivers are championship caliber. To be honest, I think Hamlin is the least talented driver in their stable, and I think he is a top 10 driver in the series. That says a lot for how good of a line up they have. A wild prediction of mine is that in 2017, JGR sweeps the final round of the chase. Plus, JGR has a great stable of developmental drivers. The only problem is, what is Gibbs going to do with them?
RCR: Menard will stay because of his daddy's money. Dillion will stay because his grand daddy owns the team. Newman might get kicked to the curb eventually because Grandpappy needs to give Ty a ride.
Stewart Haas: Welcome to Ford SHR. Bowyer will underperform tragically. I like Bowyer, but I don't think he is as good as people say he is. Harvick will struggle because he is driving a Ford. Danica will be Danica and keep her ride simply because she's bankrolling the team. Even though it is becoming clear she is having a tougher time doing that. And Kurt Busch will once again be the best driver in the SHR camp. I wouldn't count out SHR bringing a 5th car around every so often. Tony might want to run something, and Romain Grosjean has stated he'd like to try NASCAR out. It just so happens that F1 is on break while NASCAR is at Watkins Glen. Also, SHR has a Xfinity program now, and Grosjean can also run Mid-Ohio and the Glen in that series.

Re: 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Silly Season
Overall Thoughts of NASCAR
Oh boy, you guys are in trouble. They won't let you see it, but I think NASCAR is realizing they a problem. Nextel was announced as the sponsor for 2004 at the beginning of 2003. It is now December, and NASCAR still doesn't have a title sponsor for next year. Rumor has it that NASCAR is asking for A billion dollars to sponsor the series. THAT IS INSANE! Monster Energy seems to be the leader in that race. NASCAR is also seeing a lot of it's big name drivers leave. I am not really seeing anyone coming up that will drum up the fanbase like Gordon, Stewart, or Junior have (I don't think Junior has long). Maybe Chase Elliott, but outside of him, I don't see it.
However the biggest problem that NASCAR has to deal with is this... And I don't think they see it coming.

My reaction when Brian France was asked a question about getting substantially less money than what their astronmical asking price was...
