Homestead To Host The Season Finale In 2017

After a long debate that started even into off season of 2015, Washington DC has been questioned whether it should stay as the finale race. Going in the racing seemed a bit random, anyone had a shot to win and the racing was almost like a superspeedway. On a series that hosts mainly speedways that are completely different to DC the officials have tossed the idea of swapping the finale track out with another great speedway. Homestead arouse as a possible replacement after last year however fans wanted DC over Homestead. If it's one thing the officials have learned from listening to their fans is that sometimes the fans majority answer is not always the best idea. The Chase for the Championship being added to this season and this season only (2016) it didn't really impress too much and it was voted on by the fans to have it this year. The Chase was good in a way but bad in another. The series will be going back to their old point system for good next season. The audience that watches and love the series, their opinion is valuable but if their is one thing the officials have learned is that sometimes the feeling in your gut is sometimes the better call and with DC being the ultimate fan favorite being our crowning moment for our champions we are finally cutting the 1 mile superspeedway type track off the finale race. Washington D.C. will host the 21st round of the 36 race season and Homestead will move to the finale and Martinsville will get a 2nd date after an impress test session a week ago.

So this season, (Season 20) will be the last time we see Washington D.C. host as the finale. 17 out of 20 seasons the finale race has been Washington D.C.

SCS Officials: We believe that with this format with the chase, DC plays a good role with it being the finale. It's very intense to watch but wrecks are bound to happen in superspeedway type racing. However, with no chase being our points system to decide the champion for the next few years we don't believe it fits. We have a lot of speedways on the circuit of the year and we believe the finale shouldn't be so random. Reason why we have moved Talladega futher away from the Finale race because we want our drivers to still have some races left to gain back possible carnage that superspeedways provide. Superspeedways aren't the best send off with it being at the very end of the year. Homestead has always provided some amazing racing and we believe it won't disappoint and we're happy to have them as our track that will be hosting the finale for years to come.
