IRLS Mastercard Championship Series Race 2: Las Vegas

Post by LHP14Florida on November 2nd 2016, 2:03 pm

Welcome to sin city, who can last the longest?

OOC: I know I haven't been posting much after the 500, but I am planning on making this a weekly thing, as I am busy with outside stuff. I will try recording friday-saturday and upload Qualifying Saturday (I may not show qualifying, only for crown jewel events), and Race on Sunday. Also, Points standings do exist, but only will start coming out either 2 or 3 events happen.

OOC: I guess Shelly beat me at the punch for that one

After the paddock goes from one wild race at Daytona, with a first time IRLS 500 winner in
Spoiler at Race One:
Chase Pressly in the 31 for Randy Cross Racing
. It was a nail biter to the very end and a race that didn't disappoint. Remember the rules of the Playoff Picture, a win will NOT get you in. But maybe as a Wild Card spot. The paddock moves to Las Vegas, Nevada for the second round of the series and if the 500 had a tale to say about it, good luck, it's going to be a long one.

Qualifying has wrapped up in Sin City. Here's the results.

Qualifying:

1.#4 Wilhoit-2.#12 L.Johnson
3.#60 Thabor-4.#62 J.Shelly
5.#31 C.Pressly-6.#8 Tanner
7.#29 D.Pressly-8.#24 Sandfer
9.#32 Angel(R)-10.#16 Boga
11.#1 Syndal-12.#5 Addams
13.#11 Scott-14.#17 Moreau
15.#06 Shock Jr.(R)-16.#36 Pericles
17.#2 Fitzwater Sr.-18.#96 Ai Long
19.#43 Roush-20.#28 Jefferson
21.#46 S.Johnson-22.#13 Stewart
23.#76 Lewis(R)-24.#92 Finguy
25.#7 Shephard(R)-26.#84 Stucole
27.#74 Paganello(R)-28.#83 Hirano
29.#33 A.Shelly-30.#98 T.Delic
31.#99 Lothaire-Irvine(R)-32.#38 Vernio
33.#01 Tanker-34.#07 Gurion
35.#00 A.Delic-36.#9 Cherry(R)
37.#14 Vargas*-38.#3 Dodd**
39.#22 Montoya***-40.#6 Duncan**
41.#88 Qrow**-42.#26 Shock Sr.****

*-Once again, the 14 failed Pre-Qualifying, making her the first car to the rear of the field not to have damage or an engine blown
**-The 3, 6, & 88 all went to backup cars after a wreck in Qualifying. The note here, is Dodd was on POLE. Duncan was 10th as well. Already, this weekend is in controversy.
***-The 22 of Julio Garcia Montoya had a piece of the wreck, he will go to a backup car on Sunday.
****-The 26 of Kyle Shock Sr.'s engine within the car has blown up. Nuff said he's going back to the grid.

Going into the race, a lot of powerful cars are going to the back of the field. We'll see if they can work their way back up through the field. (See the Qualifying Tab to see why). It's going to be a bet to make it in victory lane, and the trophy is nothing more, than a World Championship Title Belt. Who will have their hand raised in this fight in Vegas? It's Vegas baby. IT'S TIME!!

Gurion: "Just need to finish this race..."

Dodd: "Man, we had such a fast car, hopefully our backup car is good enough to make it through the pack."

OOC: QUICK EDITS TO THE ABOVE POSTS. THE 26 IS NOT AT THE REAR OF THE FIELD AND VARGAS IS THE LAST CAR STARTING. AND ALSO THE FINAL ROWS SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:

Correctness:
37.Cherry (R) 38. Dodd 39. Duncan 40. Montoya 41. Qrow 42.Vargas
