Hayden Kline cleared by SCS Officials to race in 2017
It's been a long 5 months for Hayden Kline as he recovers to try and make the step back into Sony Cup Series Racing. Kline suffered head sustaining injuries after the frightening crash he had at Indianapolis. In a wreck that had him on life support in the first 24 hours Kline in the first few weeks was told he might not ever be able to race again. After many physical training sessions to overcome all the obstacles his injuries gave him. Blurred vision, slurred speech, reaction time delayed. Some figured Kline wouldn't be able to ever be back to his old self. Over time Kline has been able to overcome from the injuries. Hayden Kline and Sony Cup Series Officials got together in Savannah, GA to make sure if Kline mentally was able to pass the test if he was healthy enough to drive a racecar. After the tests Kline got the okay from SCS Officials and allowed him to run laps around Savannah Speedway to get some laps under his belt and prepare himself for the racing season ahead of him. SUMS Racing fielding the car for him to run and get him ready for 2017, it looked as though Kline is physically and mentally able to be behind a stock car. All the worries that Kline might not be healthy enough to drive have been hushed.
SUMS
Stroker: "We are happy that Kline is ready to go, and we are ready to start our new partnership with him."
