Michael White To Race Superspeedways ONLY in 2017
Michael White in his rookie season in Season 7 won at Cape America and finished 3rd in final points in the mist of 3 Coorweiser Racing cars in the battle for the Championship. White seemed to be the driver of the future, however, after Season 7's Cape America win White has never won another race. Michael White has been close on many occasions, driving for various race teams through his career. Michael White raced for Turner Fenway in 2015 capturing 6 Top 10s. After not being able to resign with the team, he drove for the underfunded Red Stallion Racing team in 2016 grabbing 1 top 10 all year and just barely missed putting the team inside Top 35 Owner Points for next year's first 4 races to be locked in.
Michael White was under a 1 year contract with the team and wasn't returning. People have been speculating if White was going to hang up the helmet after 2016 but White after rumors with ARC Racing and various race teams have went around it was announced Michael White will drive a part time schedule in 2017 driving for Cloud9 Racing for the superspeedway races. He'll attempt to make his 14th DAYTONA 500 after failing to miss last year's DAYTONA 500. He'll drive the #34 Taco Bell Ford. If the team can get inside the top 35 in Owner Points after Round 4 to be locked into the races Cloud9 Racing might merge into a full time team. Aidan Shepherd will drive the car for the other races in the #34 while Matt Daleo hopes to bring his career back to life in the Cup Series by putting the #37 Cloud9 Racing Ford into the Top 35 in Owner Points so the team will be a full-time organization so he can race all the races.
