Round 4 of Alabama @ Talladega
Kenny: The higher downforce package we are bringing for Talladega might actually make the race quite different than Daytona!

Re: Round 4 of Alabama @ Talladega
Talladega important points race, Top 35 after Dega is locked in next 4 races
Part of the new points system means that the schedule is broken apart in multiple little sections. The first 4 races meant that the top 25 from the Season 21 drivers points are locked in. However, Talladega is crucial, because the top 35 in drivers points after Talladega are locked in to the next 4 races. So therefore, anyone above 36th, is locked in to Mallory Park, Scandinavian Motorsports Park, Peristroikaring, and Eurospeedway. So this weekend may in fact be a very crucial race for the ARCSOA paddock. Right now 35th in points is Zachary Fitzwater with 112 points. Leaving Louisiana we know only that only a handful of drivers are guaranteed to be on the grid for Mallory Park and beyond. Scott Roush, Charles Sandfer, Tristan Wilhoit, Nathan McKane, Erin Perkins, Nick Pericles, Jacob Hart, Roman Rehall, and maybe Joshua Michaels are locked in to rounds 5-8.
Rounds 9-10 give automatic entry to teams that sign up for those individual races. Round 11 is the American 700, where no one is safe. Beyond that, the process will restart again.

Alex: "We have a couple top 10 runs, but that DNQ at Road Atlanta means we must run well here at Dega to get into that top 35."
Vincent: "We need to get ourselves together for Dega, it has been a very tough start to the season. Just no luck when it comes to avoiding wrecks so far, and the engine issues don't help either."

BREAKING NEWS: Griffin to depart Silverspeed at the end of Season 22
BREAKING - The Motorsport Nut auto racing magazine is reporting that Ryan Griffin, driver of the #82 Silverspeed Dodge, will be leaving that team at the end of season 22. Though this is unconfirmed, it is reported that an official press announcement will come after the race in Talladega and before the race at Mallory Park.
Despite finishing 2nd to teammate and reigning champion, Nick Pericles, at Daytona, Griffin's season hasn't gone as he had hoped. The Michigan native has been involved in accidents in the last two race as well as heated exchanges with Pericles crew chief [during the team meeting in Road Atlanta] and his own spotter [after Road Atlanta].
It is unclear at this time whether Griffin intends this season to be last or if he wants to continue driving after this season.

Re: Round 4 of Alabama @ Talladega
Kenny Myatt removed from pre-race drivers meeting for criticizing safety
Sunday morning at Talladega Superspeedway saw a very tense atmosphere surround the paddock before the drivers meeting for the Round of Alabama. Tensions have raised since a rather serious accident took place on the last lap of the Round of Florida a month ago. To combat the high speeds, ARCSOA has put a wicker on the back of the spoilers in order to slow the cars down. However, it has become clear that the plan hasn't really worked. In fact, speeds have not decreased, and now the pack has tightened.
After a disastorous qualifying race yesterday, drivers have brought up concerns with the the safety of the race. However, the most heated in this was 3-time Orion Elite Series Champion Kenny Myatt. An excerpt of Kenny's speech is listed below.
"Mr. Haley, I am here again to prove how worthless you are as a competition director. This plan to put a wicker on the back of a car isn't working, and you just expect the drivers to go out there and race like there is nothing wrong. Well, there is something wrong, and it is all because of YOU! I have a 16 year old daughter, who is ready to put her life on the line unnecessarily. This kind of racing has been insane for many years. I have always been against it. You are a fool who has no clue what..."
Haley at that point ordered security to remove Myatt from the meeting. Haley is in charge this week as ARCSOA supremo Vijay Pushanda is back home in India dealing with a personal matter.

Re: Round 4 of Alabama @ Talladega
Roush: I agree with Myatt, I have been a fan of this for awhile and Haley isn't exactly the best when it comes to Directing races, HOWEVER. We should not be going this fast. I call for a restrictor plate, it will bring the speeds down and cause the wrecks to be less servere

Finguy: "I completely agree with Myatt. The racing on the superspeedways have gotten way too scary. Even after the massive wreck I was in, there should be ore ways to at least slow the speeds of the cars at least. I don't want to see someone as young as Maddie or anyone who's still just a teenager on the catch fence and not moving after the hit..."

Wait, why are some drivers have 5 races ran when you haven't posted Round 5 yet?

Because Road Atlanta was imported twice in order to get it to be a Double points race.
