D.J. Kurtis over the course of his career has won on multiple race tracks. Kurtis has won on nearly every different type of race track you can think of. Road course racing has seemed to be a thing Kurtis has really adapted to well to. D.J. Kurtis lined up in the Top 4 with fellow competitors Zachary Fitzwater, Sean Perkins and Jeffery Finguy ready to go at it for 20 laps however an accident with Fitzwater and Perkins in turn 1 quickly eliminated them from any shot at winning a race. Similar to our first road course race this year at the Philippines, Fitzwater and Perkins got taken out of the equation of winning and opened the door for D.J. Kurtis to win the race. The same thing happened this race when both Fitzwater and Perkins crashed. With them 2 out of the race Kurtis cruised to his 2nd win of the year and right now the only driver to win on road courses this year! Kurtis moved to 2nd in the points standings 2 points back to Jake Baskinger in taking the point lead! The last time D.J. Kurtis has led the points lead was when he stole the points lead in the final race of the Season 13 winning the championship! D.J. Kurtis in 16 starts of this year has 2 wins, 5 top 5's and 8 top 10s. Kurtis 50% of the time this year has finished out the races inside the Top 10 but the long hot summer will surely test him and his team if they can contend for the championship as they look ahead in trying to win their 3rd road course victory in a row! Evan Gattuso holds the record of being the only driver to win 3 road course races in a row! Can Kurtis tie one of the pioneers of the sport?
