Chase Analysis
Predictions:
Round 1 Eliminated: 26, 49, 90, 38
Round 2 Eliminated: 61, 46, 6, 23
Round 3 Eliminated: 53, 27, 96, 78
Round 4 Eliminated: 9, 60, 06
Champion: Roman Rehall
In depth look at the 16 drivers:
06- Jarvi Lethinen- The miracle story from the Season 7 Chase, Jarvi Lethinen is back with one of the most powerful cars on the grid. Expect him to go up into at least the top 8, maybe the final four.
6- Heather Stucolé (R)- She won at Dover earlier this season, but has had a myriad of bad luck races. She probably won't survive very far, and may even drop round 1.
9- Scott Roush- Scott Roush has been on a roll lately. He has gotten up past 10 wins and will likely find more in the Chase. Don't be surprised if he makes the Final Four again.
23- Aidan Shepherd- Aidan has won two races and has arguably the best momentum rolling into the Chase. With his performance he may likely make the Final 8, if not 4.
26- Jay Jianoran (R)- I don't even know how this guy won. He will not go far, especially since he hasn't had a top 10 since the win.
27- Jake Moss- The most consistent driver on the grid. I expect him to drop in the third round because of his inability to win thus far, but he could surprise and win during the Chase.
38- Tommy Roberts (R)- This guy just happened to grab points from Emmanuel after he dropped out. He'll be out in round 1, WestFall honestly just isn't strong enough to go far.
46- Eli Bright- He has found a way to win in both of his seasons. This year he got a win in the Ohio wreckfest. He will go very far this year, but we said that last year, he went out in round 1.
49- Christian Merrick Jr. - Merrick won at California and has been on a streak of good finishes lately. If he cannot win, he will be out in rounds 1 or 2.
53- Nathan Hood- He was not a Chaser in Season 7, but if he was he would have been in the Final Four going for a championship. He won twice this season so far and has one of the best cars on the grid behind only Roush and Lethinen. He will go very far.
60- Luca Icks- Has won twice at Castle Gorge and Pocono. There are no similar tracks in the Chase, but Luca showed last season that he could go far in the 60 RDR known for the arrogant driving of Lefvini Erikksan. Expect him to change the history of car 60 by making the final 4 or 8 again this year.
61- Tripontakio Vernio- Barely knocked out Lexi McFarland, who was much stronger all season than Vernio. He may make round 3, but that's the furthest he'll make it.
70- Charles Sandfer- He's a road course specialist, and the Season 7 Champion. He has all the ingredients together to make another long run in the Chase.
78- Deb Bunnell- He has had his best season to date this year, with two wins and scoring the first ever mother-son 1-2 finish in NMGAR history. She may make round 3, but she just doesn't have the car or the attitude to make the final four.
90- Brenna Carmichael (R)- Not very strong, but if she is given track position, she may make a miracle out of it. If she doesn't get positioned well by starting position and/or team strategy, she will be eliminated early.
96- Benoit Lothaire-Irvine- He can win. That's a fact. But can he win with the pressure of 15 other people needing that same position? That's a question only time can answer. He made it last season, but was eliminated early.
97- Roman Rehall- He has not won since Round 4 of Daytona, but he could have been holding something back. Will he come into championship form during the Chase? We think he will, and that he could well be the Season 8 champion.
Round 1 Eliminated: 26, 49, 90, 38
Round 2 Eliminated: 61, 46, 6, 23
Round 3 Eliminated: 53, 27, 96, 78
Round 4 Eliminated: 9, 60, 06

Re: Chase Analysis
Races in the Chase and Predicted Winners
27. Capital City- Jarvi Lethinen- As he and Roush are predicted to be the fast two in qualifying, Jarvi is at an advantage due to the extreme difficulty of passing.
28. Darlington- Jake Moss- Unusual pick, but Moss is consistent, and Darlington has proven to be a track that rewards the consistent, like Kaitlyn Martin in Season 4.
29. Bahrain- Aidan Shepherd- Aidan specializes in road course races with relatively high attrition rates, such as Nurburgring and Bahrain.
-----ROUND OF 12---------
30. Indianapolis- Nathan Hood- He nearly won this track in Season 3, with a late crash taking his chances away and giving the win to Chris Pierce.
31. Auto Club- Lexi McFarland- She could've defeated Christian Merrick Jr. at Auto Club for Round 5, so she is looking to redeem herself of that result. She may not be in the Chase, but she is a very good racer who should've made it on a win at MULTIPLE tracks.
32. Coca-Cola- Zachary Fitzwater- Fitzwater won the only race that was ever ran for the Cup Series at Coca-Cola by a long shot. Of course, that race is more well known for the last lap big one that took out Shawn Henkle and Joey Lombardi.
-------ROUND OF 8---------
33. Michigan- Scott Roush- Once again, a track where passing is not really an option unless it is done during pit stops. Despite this, Shawn Henkle and Joey Lombardi had a close finish here in Season 2.
34. Pocono- Scott Roush- Roush should've won this race at Round 24. Icks passed him on his out lap off pit road.
35. Talladega- Roman Rehall- Rehall is an all-around superspeedway master. He won at Daytona in the 500 earlier this year and was in contention at Talladega at the Birmingham 500.
------FINAL FOUR--------
36. Black Hills Backroads- Charles Sandfer- He won at Thornton. Nuff said.
27. Capital City- Jarvi Lethinen- As he and Roush are predicted to be the fast two in qualifying, Jarvi is at an advantage due to the extreme difficulty of passing.

Re: Chase Analysis
Predicted winner at Carbondale- Jarvi Lethinen
Actual winner at Carbondale- Nathan Hood
After surviving the early onslaught of cautions at Carbondale, Nathan Hood held off a hard charging Brenna Carmichael to win at Carbondale. Carmichael, who was not expected to go past round 1, may have clinched a Round 2 berth by this finish alone. Other chase drivers crashed, including Merrick Jr, Jianoran, Roush, and Lethinen, who are currently on the outside looking in.

Re: Chase Analysis
Breaking news for CTRS:
Tripontakio Vernio docked 11 Chase Points for Actions at Carbondale
It is widely known that the CTRS officials are very strict about lapped car antics. And when it's 2 Chase Drivers of whom 1 is multiple laps down and the other going for the lead, there have to be some strict sanctions against that. In this case those Chase Drivers were Tripontakio Vernio and Roman Rehall, and the issue occurred in the form of a lap 114 spin. Vernio, who was 2 laps down, would come up off turn 3 and hit the Rehall car, which was slow from hitting the wall. He would continue to hook Rehall until they hit the wall in Turn 4 causing Rehall's car to go airborne. Rehall and Vernio would get away and go on to finish 3rd and 7th, respectively. (OOC: Essentially Kenseth'd him) Other sanctions were taken toward similar incidents involving HG Kendall and Jay Jianoran, but no penalties were given because the wrecks did not affect anyone's chance at a Chase title except their own. Also, Vernio's incident was pretty blatant.
