Mack Johnson's first main event went not as well as planned. While he did finish 16th, a possible top 5 run by the rookie was marred by a crash on lap 94 that forced him to pit off sequence and ruin his strategy

This is Shepperd's second career win. No oe expected Shepperd to win after his injury at Thornton last season, but he has pulled it off twice.
