Sean Perkins released; Matt Daleo signed on as new driver
After some conflict behind the scenes after Kansas, HorizonGroup has released Sean Perkins from his contract in the team. Sean Perkins will not be back in the Sony Cup Series for the rest of this year and is expected to be calling it quits. After 14 races, Perkins has accumulated 2 Top 10 finishes and says he is at peace with his decision to walk away from the sport after scoring 8 wins, a championship and 2 DAYTONA 500's.
His replacement is going to come at the hands of veteran Matt Daleo who joined the sport in Season 17 in his rookie year and also went on to win his 1 and only Cup race ever that season. Daleo will be back in the Cup Series for the first time since Homestead driving for Finguy-Psytomi Motorsports.
