Season X Preseason Testing Empty Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 December 23rd 2018, 4:40 pm

Doing this a little differently than last season, instead this year we will have a non charter qualifying test, a charter qualifying test with all 3 round knockout quali, and a test charter race for each track using the lineups predetermined by said qualifying sessions.

The 10 Preseason Test Tracks are:
Daytona- #40 Dumindu
Texas- #30 Lukewalker
Chicago Motor Speedway- #11 Freeze
Charlotte- #45 Bunnell
AKMP- $50 Hunter
Dover- #96 Lothaire-Irvine
Michigan- #34 Anderson
New Hampshire Roval- #52 Martin
Daytona Roval- #38 Roberts
Sonoma

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 December 23rd 2018, 5:26 pm

Test Race 1: Daytona.
Non Charter Qualifying: Wilson Wallace leads the field, his teammate Bubba Martin and Mack Johnson notable among the other 6 to qualify.
1. 99
2. 81
3. 82
4. 66
5. 52
6. 73
7. 86
8. 43
9. 02
10. 32
11. 68
12. 39
13. 23
14. 07
15. 37
16. 63
17. 2
18. 8
19. 44
Notes: Maddie Hightower and Aidan Shepherd looked very slow in the session, and this shows how important having the draft will be in qualifying for the charter races at superspeedways. Remember that non charter qualifying only lasts 10 minutes, so it will be a dash to see who can get the best partner.
Charter Qualifying:
Q1
1. 87 Eric Monaco R- Eric Monaco got the pole with what most people will argue is the slowest car on the grid. While some will say that he simply got lucky coming out behind the 72 off pit road, I think this is truly Eric showing off his true potential. He also showed strength at off-air tests at the New Hampshire Roval.
2. 72 Alexia Wise- Her move up from the depths of the Non Charter Series into a Rank C ride will be something to watch early on in the season. While Rank C may not be what the Kentucky winner deserves based on her runner up non charter finish, she just showed us how well she could do by laying down the second fastest lap.
3. 70 Sandfer
4. 24 Mooney
5. 61 T. Vernio- This is a big storyline heading into the season. TV has announced that Season 11 will be his last season if he does not win. His last win will have been 3 seasons ago when we get to Kentucky.
6. 20 Jackson
7. 73 Umpenkalen
8. 11 Freeze- I don't know what to say about Vince Freeze. He has been consistently a decent driver the last 2 seasons and on multiple instances has came close to winning, like at last season's 800. He might have lost his burden of bad luck though as he won an off-air test at Chicago Motor Speedway and has shown us that that track is truly his wheelhouse.
9. 80 Rehall
10. 45 John
11. 1 Garrison
12. 82 Mack Johnson- This team has made some major strides during the latter half of Season 9 and into the offseason. He used to be one of the slowest people on the grid, now his car has been upgraded to Rank C and is working as a satellite team with big dog factory CT.
Q2
13. 49 Merrick Jr
14. 38 Roberts
15. 14 L. Vernio- I don't know if my expectations are too high for this rookie, but someone who won twice on superspeedways last season did not make Q3, although I guess give him credit since it's a Rank D.
16. 79 L. Stucole
17. 59 Millers
18. 30 Lukewalker
19. 90 Carmichael
20. 05 McF
21. 35 L. Johnson- She is attempting her first full time season since Season 4, when she won the 500 running for Roush Fenway.
22. 26 McDonald- Will McDonald qualify this poorly all season long?
23. 98 Dalton
24. 52 Bubba Martin- Daytona is the track where we saw the first glimpse of greatness out of Bubba Martin. While he has not necessarily lived up to his hype yet, that may be just because Bright Racing had an off year last season, with their only highlight being Eli's Bristol win against Lafter Stucole.
Q3
25. 69 Sheppard
26. 57 Kendall- This is the first time that Kendall will have ever raced for a team other than CT. Can she do well in a new environment? She hasn't won since she pulled off the upset of the century in Season 3 at Daytona in the night race, many believed until last year she may be a one and done driver, but after a great run in Season 9, many think now that she may have some new life.
27. 66 Naxare
28. 40 Dumindu
29. 27 J. Moss
30. 50 Hunter
31. 78 Deb
32. 81 E. Huddleson
33. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Uncharacteristically slow. Is Quick Shift Racing potentially having an off year this year, or will they get their act turned around?
34. 58 Gonzalez
35. 34 Anderson- What??
36. 53 me
37. 60 DePlatt
38. 86 J. Huddleson
39. 3 H. Stucole
40. 99 Wallace
41. 65 B. Moss- OK, what is it with Beka Moss and preseason testing? She has never done well in the preseason tests, but last year she would have won the championship as a rookie.
42. 47 Dawson- Carl Dawson is the slowest person at the track. His speed though might not have anything to do with Money Motorsports, it could just be his decision to not join a pack during quali.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Results:
1. 40 Dumindu- Champions Racing seems to have Daytona down. Last year they got Lukewalker a win here, now Dumindu with the win as well.
2. 90 Carmichael- Led some laps in the midsection of the race just could not track down Dumindu after some slower lapped cars got in the way at the end.
3. 78 Deb- Was on her way to the win, then a phantom debris caution came out. Tough way to lose.
4. 69 Sheppard
5. 72 Wise- Stayed out front for the majority of the race and was around in the end to pick up the top 5.
6. 3 H. Stucole
7. 61 T. Vernio- I honestly thought Lance would do the best out of this team.
8. 50 Hunter
9. 60 DePlatt
10. 79 L. Stucole- Passed McDonald late in the race to grab the top 10 result. McDonald, as well as Stucole, were both nowhere all race long.
11. 20 Jackson
12. 47 Dawson- Slowest in qualifying and didn't really have much in terms of race pace either, miraculous things happened to get him a 12th place
13. 57 Kendall
14. 26 McDonald- We have watched William McDonald a lot in these off-air tests as well as in this one. In the 800 test, he seemed to maybe be a 25th-30th place car and then a lapped car came up and wrecked one of the leaders, setting off a chain reaction that McDonald was able to avoid and get a top 5. In my opinion, he is just trying to get lucky on a caution late in these races, he's been lucky so far but some day his luck will run out.
15. 87 Monaco- Polesitter had a decent day, his finish doesn't show how well he ran with that 87 car all day running inside the top 10.
16. 65 B. Moss- If William McDonald and the Stucoles benefitted from the slow lapped cars after the caution, the one that lost the most was Moss. She had been running in the top 5 all day up until the caution, and after the caution she never came back from getting held up.
17. 34 Anderson
18. 98 Dalton
19. 59 Millers
20. 24 Mooney
21. 70 Sandfer
22. 99 Wallace
23. 81 E. Huddleson
24. 38 Roberts
25. 45 John
26. 30 Lukewalker- He historically has a very good track record at Daytona so I have no clue what happened this time.
27. 35 L. Johnson
28. 80 Rehall
29. 52 B. Martin
30. 66 Naxare- The HHR's have been off all offseason testing. Just getting two cars into the race was a miracle in itself and getting them all in the top 30 is likely one of the two biggest upsets of the weekend.
31. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Somehow he ended up a lap down
32. 27 J. Moss
33. 58 Gonzalez
34. 11 Freeze- As noted we expected Freeze to do well this year, and as soon as I say that this run just puts that down the drain early on.
35. 14 L. Vernio- He's never won at Daytona but his 2 career wins are both on super speedways so I expected more.
36. 53 me- We've been slow since Season 4.
37. 86 J. Huddleson- I thought all the HHR Tielakeggzeartas made the top 30, well, except for "Uncle Joe" Janes.
38. 73 Umpenkalen
39. 05 McF
40. 1 Garrison- Disappointing day for Garrison, who nearly won at Texas last season
41. 82 Mack Johnson- OK, he ended up 12 laps down after being in a late race crash and then he decided to slow up the leaders and cause the late race ruckus behind Dumindu...
42. 49 Merrick Jr. - He was the only driver to retire from the race after an incident with SO Garrison. That looked like Merrick was not paying attention, if that was during the regular season that would be a big penalty.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 December 28th 2018, 12:21 pm

Round 2- Texas
Non Charter Q:
1. 99 Wallace- A great run out of someone who barely started a race last year.
2. 07 Shepherd
3. 39 G. Huddleson- Very impressed with the qualifying speed of the HHR's this year.
4. 52 Martin- We know he has talent. But will he ever break through?
5. 2 Stic- Awesome run by this team.
6. 82 Mack Johnson- D and H Racing continuing to show off their offseason strides.
7. 23 Ĺ atska
8. 8 Winner- OK, there is no current DDS Winner, but this car, being driven anonymously, put up a solid time.
9. 81 E. Huddleson
10. 02 Fitzwater- Was expecting more out of FAR.
11. 66 Naxare
12. 86 J. Huddleson
13. 32 Stryger
14. 43 Erickson- While Monaco has been nothing short of impressive his teammates have lacked speed.
15. 73 Umpenkalen
16. 37 J. Vernio
17. 44 Hightower
18. 63 L. Huddleson
19. 68 McKalister- Slowest person in the grid. I can already tell Michael may not be in many races this year.
Charter Q:
Q3:
1. 26 McDonald R
2. 65 B. Moss- Moss, Martin, T. Vernio, Stucole, Kendall, Johnson, Garrison, Freeze, and the 40 were all involved in a scary wreck during Q1, so they have all been forced to start in the rear. Tough break, especially for Moss
3. 82 Mack Johnson- His best career start.
4. 61 T. Vernio- Unfortunately plowed into the Moss crash.
5. 27 J. Moss
6. 80 Rehall- By virtue of the crash he will be 2nd to start.
7. 05 McF
8. 79 L. Stucole
9. 47 Dawson
10. 30 Lukewalker
11. 38 Roberts
12. 70 Sandfer
Q2
13. 07 Shepherd- The Texan native gets a front of the grid start today.
14. 50 Hunter
15. 52 Martin
16. 34 Anderson
17. 98 Dalton
18. 99 Wallace
19. 59 Millers
20. 57 Kendall
21. 45 John
22. 40 Dimundi
23. 60 DePlatt
24. 14 L. Vernio
Q1
25. 69 Sheppard
26. 90 Carmichael
27. 49 Merrick Jr. - Needs some work to defend his Texas win last year
28. 53 me
29. 35 L. Johnson
30. 1 Garrison- Just barely lost out on a Texas win last year (OOC the attempt when my computer crashed before I could export results)
31. 2 Stic
32. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Where on earth did all his speed go?
33. 23 Ĺ atska
34. 20 Jackson
35. 72 Wise
36. 78 D. Bruneil
37. 87 Monaco- Managed to miss the Moss crash, but he was just slow.
38. 39 G. Huddleson
39. 11 Freeze
40. 3 Stucole
41. 24 Mooney- By far the slowest car on the team today.
42. 58 Gonzalez- Sort of sums up the end to Season 9 he had. Horrible luck for Ike.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 December 28th 2018, 1:09 pm

Texas Results:
1. 30 Lukewalker- Despite starting in the back, Lukewalker showed us that he was a force to be reckoned with early, and parlayed his luck and speed into a dominant win.
2. 98 Dalton- Also a persistent threat for the lead, but just didn't have the speed it took on pit road to beat the 30
3. 47 Dawson- Had the slowest pit crew of the top 3, on lap 290 they cost him a winning opportunity by blowing the pit stop.
4. 35 L. Johnson
5. 52 Martin- Was leading at one point, but after the DePlatt incident he lost all hope of winning and that day got even worse when Alexia Wise wrecked in front of him causing him to spin.
6. 82 M. Johnson- While he unfortunately did receive damage in the Big One he managed to run as high as 2nd. Wasn't much of a contender late.
7. 58 Gonzalez- Also involved in the Martin and Wise spin.
8. 39 G. Huddleson- Shout out to HHR for claiming Rookie of the Race. He was VERY lucky in missing most of the wrecks and actually did get contact in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th cautions.
9. 24 Mooney- Was fast, but got trapped a lap down after pitting before the pace car on an early caution.
10. 80 Rehall- Had the same fate as Mooney. Winning contender early, then pitted before the pace car.
11. 70 Sandfer
12. 07 Shephetd
13. 99 Wallace
14. 34 Anderson
15. 49 Merrick Jr
16. 59 Millers
17. 65 Moss
18. 14 L. Vernio
19. 11 Freeze- Last person to finish the race.
20. 69 Sheppard- Surprised that his spin off the front of Bul Dalton on lap 270 was not a caution.
21. 50 Hunter
22. 72 Wise- Was in the 5th caution when she came up in front of Gonzalez and Martin, creating a 3 car spin that would wipe out Hunter after she piled in.
23. 26 McDonald- The 4th caution of the race occurred when a lapped car cut across Bubba Martin, unfortunately McDonald had nowhere to go.
24. 60 DePlatt- He was the lapped car that caused the incident.
25. 1 Garrison
26. 61 T. Vernio-Carmichael spun out in front of G. Huddleson creating a chain reaction that Vernio just couldn't miss.
27. 57 Kendall
28. 53 me
29. 20 Jackson
30. 40 Dimundi
31. 90 Carmichael
32. 45 John
33. 05 McF- Brought out the first caution after Mackenzie Johnson spun him down the backstretch.
34. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Dawson, Millers, Kendall and G. Huddleson went 4 wide to manufacture the big one at Texas in which Benoit was caught up. Lothaire, however, did create the follow up crash by taking out Dimundi, and this is what took the most damaged cars.
35. 27 J. Moss
36. 38 Roberts- Flipped over in the big one as did Ĺ atska.
37. 23 Ĺ atska
38. 79 L. Stucole
39. 3 H. Stucole
40. 78 D. Bruneil
41. 2 Stic
42. 87 Monaco- Not the kind of day Monaco was looking to have. Started 33rd and was caught up in the precursor action to the first caution then gets caught up in the second one. No one ever wants to start out back, and Monaco's day is a clear example of that.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 January 6th 2019, 11:23 pm

Rather than posting the entire results from this point on with the preseason testing, the series will only be posting the top 10 plus honorable mentions.
Non Charter Qualifiers: 07,52,82,99,44,86,39
Charter Qualifying:
Q3:
1. 60
2. 27
3. 11
4. 3
5. 26
6. 40
7. 98
8. 05
9. 65
10. 07
11. 45
12. 69
Honorable Mentions (basically any user controlled driver outside Q3)
14. 52
15. 24
18. 82
21. 96
26. 38
27. 70
28. 34
29. 80
31. 99
35. 47
42. 87
Race: Vince Freeze claims his first win in the canon (despite this only being the preseason)
1. 11
2. 60- The 60 led most of the race but was passed by the 11 with a bold move on lap 187. That pass ended up costing Austin the win.
3. 27
4. 65
5. 70
6. 34
7. 58
8. 38
9. 26
10. 50
Honorable Mentions:
11. 52
14. 39- The HHR held the rookie of the race spot for the most part of the race until the pit stop cycle put the slower Rank D HHR behind the 8 ball.
15. 47
17. 80
20. 99
24. 82
28. 87
32. 40- There is a bit of a backstory behind including the 40 in this list of honorable mentions. He started inside the top 10 and was not very strong early on. The early caution put him on a contrarian pit strategy that plagued him for the most part of the race pinning him a lap down after the second pit cycle, and unfortunately on lap 249, with the white flag being shown, the 40 car began to ail and crossed the line out of gas in 32nd.
34. 24
37. 98
39. 07
42. 96- Yet another tough performance today by Benoit Lothaire-Irvine, as he would be caught up in the first and only caution on lap 2. His damage would completely wipe him out of the race and to this point Benoit is still toward the bottom of the preseason testing point standings.

Charlotte Testing
Non Charter Qualifiers: 73,99,32,44,02,2,43
This is 43 Keith Erickson's 1st start.
Q3:
1. 79 Stucole
2. 96 Lothaire-Irvine
3. 38 Roberts
4. 53 me
5. 30 Lukewalker
6. 27 Moss
7. 73 Umpenkalen
8. 50 Hunter
9. 34 Anderson
10. 99 Wallace
11. 24 Mooney
12. 49 Merrick Jr.
Honorable Qualifiers:
13. 26 McDonald
16. 70 Sandfer
21. 45 John
25. 80 Rehall
26. 11 Freeze
28. 87 Monaco
33. 02 Fitzwater
37. 98 Dalton
40. 43 Erickson
Race Results: The 45 of John wins the race at Charlotte after holding off Hightower.
1. 45 John
2. 44 Hightower
3. 78 Deb
4. 49 Merrick Jr.
5. 24 Mooney
6. 43 Erickson- This was probably the feel-good story of the entire race. Keith Erickson, who was never particularly fast in the early stages of the race, at one point nearly fell two laps down while running in the mid-30s. A caution saved Keith and he, having found his way back onto the lead lap, simply had to cruise for an easy top 10.
7. 65 Moss
8. 11 Freeze- Was doing very well early in the race and actually led quite a few laps but the late caution cycle put him behind the 8 ball.
9. 60 DePlatt
10. 58 Gonzalez
Honorable Mentions:
11. 98 Dalton
17. 02 Fitzwater
18. 99 Wallace
24. 87 Monaco- At least he beat his rival for Rookie of the Preseason, but there's not much else you could say about this miserable run, once again he like his teammate Erickson were a lap down, Monaco pitted with the leaders and then the caution came out. If only he had stayed out with Erickson, it could have been him getting rookie of the race.
28. 70 Sandfer
30. 80 Rehall
34. 26 McDonald
36. 38 Roberts
39. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Started up front, ran in the top 10-15 for most of the race, then the caution came out and unfortunately Lothaire was caught up in a crash on the restart after some drivers made moves that were way higher than their talent level. Seems like Benoit always gets the worst end of every CTRS melee that ever occurs.
40. 34 Anderson
42. 73 Umpenkalen- He showed some speed early... Blew the motor on lap 10 while leading.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 January 11th 2019, 9:37 pm

AKMP Test:
News and Notes: Antevia Kingrey Sr. unfortunately suffered an injury at California in the preseason off-line testing which has caused Kingrey to lose out on his career. While he may have never won a points paying race, he is an All-Star (Season 5). Because of the career-ending injury, the California Speedway has honorarily renamed itself to Antevia Kingrey Motorsports Park for Season X.

Non Charter Qualifiers: 86,99,8,32,63,39,2
Charter Qualifying Order:
1. 38
2. 30
3. 90
4. 86- The HHR qualified in 4th???
5. 1
6. 60
7. 53
8. 70
9. 27
10. 3
11. 50
12. 24- After losing out on a chance for his second win at Charlotte, he follows it up with a strong qualifying effort at AKMP. While honestly, he did qualify behind the HHR, so take that for what you might.
14. 99
15. 80- Will Roman Rehall turn around this year after a miserable Season 9? He has shown what is necessary to do so so far in testing, but will it carry over into the regular season?
17. 96- Once again, to point it out again, Benoit Lothaire is one of the lowest drivers in the points with a charter currently. Keep this up, and this season might as well be a bust.
20. 8- The DDS Winner made their first start, and it looks solid from the outset, as midpack qualifying results generally bring about great finishes.
25. 87- While Monaco did show flashes at Daytona, it seems as if his chances to be a legitimate ROTY contender this season may be out the window. William McDonald has already built up a commanding lead in the preseason tests, and while these points do not carry over into the regular season, I take it as a good estimate for the driver's potential during the season, and right now, Monaco hasn't really been showing us much.
26. 26- See Eric Monaco note
27. 11
28. 65- Just pointing this out, but Moss is the current points leader in the preseason test standings.
31. 34
32. 47
34. 57- Remember last season when HG Kendall dominated the season? Well, she isn't necessarily riding the best momentum coming into the season, with a shocking Round of 16 Chase elimination and a dismal end to Season 9.
35. 98

Race Results:
1. 50- Solid race all day long and came away with the W.
2. 98-The exact opposite of Sally Hunter. Was never really up front, but the caution really helped him in the end, as he stayed out with Kendall and Stryger.
3. 11
4. 57- Was one of the 3 drivers who really took advantage of the late caution, as well as Dalton and 1 other driver. While she was persistently in the top 10-15, she never really showed the ability to run 4th until the caution.
5. 78
6. 69
7. 32- This was the other driver that stayed out and took advantage of the late caution for track position. While she did run quite well for a majority of the race, the seventh place finish was far lower than she deserved given her stellar performance.
8. 96
9. 79
10. 90- Brenna Carmichael rounded out the top 10 in the 90 car, very representative of her performance in the race. While she did start third, she really never was that person that could win.
11. 26
13. 63- Lily was probably the best rookie in the race, battling for the lead against Sally Hunter and Benoit in a Rank D ride and putting together a finish that exceeded expectations, but undersells the performance of this 63 car.
14. 8
17. 99
29. 80- Was involved in the caution that changed the race on a dime. As with most of the cautions, it was a 4 wide situation gone wrong.
32. 47
34. 70- Caught up in a wreck with the 1.
37. 87
38. 38
39. 24
40. 65- Involved in an early wreck there is no way she could possibly maintain the preseason point lead.
42. 34

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 January 17th 2019, 12:01 pm

Dover Test
Non Charter Qualifiers: 63,39,44,32 (next 3 would have been 86 8 and 99 but Dover only holds 39)
Q3:
1. 79
2. 38
3. 69
4. 50
5. 35
6. 96
7. 47
8. 40
9. 90
10. 53
11. 24
12. 98
HM
23. 34
26. 11
27. 70
30. 26
31. 87
39. 80

Race
1. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Kept out of the mayhem in the back and scored the win. He wasn't necessarily the best car on track but it is still great to see Benoit win.
2. 35 L. Johnson- It came down to her and Jackson in a fight for second with 2 to go with Johnson getting the edge.
3. 20 Jackson- Was no doubt the best car on track near the end of the race but could not hold his ground against Benoit in the end and lost two sports.
4. 1 Garrison- Was an alright day for Garrison, was never really quality for a top five but came through in the end after the melee.
5. 32 Stryger- Was up to second place and looked like she might have had something for Benoit, but got involved in a late race skirmish and fell to fifth, still great points haul for a non charter car
6. 50 Hunter
7. 3 Stucole- Won at this track in Season 7, and was the first car a lap down here.
8. 47 Dawson
9. 70 Sandfer
10 39 G. Huddleson- Rookie of the race finally falls Greg's way, while he was 2 laps down, no other rookie even finished.
13. 65 Moss- This track was the track where Moss showed her first true glimpse of talent in Season 9 with a fantastic third place showing. Today she was lucky but not able to stay out of the storm.
16. 24 Mooney- Was looking like a mid race contender for the win until a few cautions caught him in the eye of the storm.
17. 87 Monaco- Got damage in one of the early wrecks, but this will really be a great day for Monaco, puts him closer to William McDonald.
18. 34 Anderson
22. 79 Stucole- Polesitter and early race leader was always around the top 5 area until the big one struck.
24. 26 McDonald- The rookie doesn't look quite as good as the driver he inherited this ride from in the silly season, as Scott Roush was a two time consecutive Dover winner. However, I do remember McDonald being in 2nd at one point in this race.
29. 80 Rehall
30. 38 Roberts
32. 11 Freeze- Never could find his way to the front, and when the cautions started coming Freeze simply was doomed for trouble
34. 98 Dalton
DNQ: 68 McKalister- Has still not made a race in testing and is struggling to even make the top 10 in the non charter sessions. Of course that could be simply because he's in a rank D but the HHR's are pretty much making every race with their Rank D's... and even his teammate Erickson made the Charlotte test!

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 January 24th 2019, 8:37 pm

Michigan Test:
Non Charter Qualifiers: 68,32,37,2,39,66,99
Qualifying:
Q3
1. 26 McDonald R
2. 32 Stryger
3. 79 Stucole
4. 58 Gonzalez
5. 35 Johnson
6. 37 J. Vernio
7. 49 Merrick Jr.
8. 47 Dawson
9. 40 Dumindu
10. 80 Rehall
11. 24 Mooney
12. 61 T. Vernio
Other user drivers:
14. 11 Freeze
19. 68 McKalister R
24. 38 Roberts
26. 98 Dalton
29. 34 Anderson
32. 99 Wallace
36. 87 Monaco R
38. 70 Sandfer
39. 96 Lothaire-Irvine
Race Results:
1. 34 Anderson- While it may appear from the starting order that some miracle must have happened for Anderson to win, he put on a clinic on track, with he and his teammate Roberts leading almost incessantly after lap 30 or so. The only people that were even close to his pace were his teammates and a few people who were wiped out in crashes during the midsection.
2. 30 Lukewalker- His second place finish was mainly due to the mid race caution rash as he wasn't someone I remember for running in the top 15 for most of the race.
3. 11 Freeze- Was definitely not the best of the WestFall cars today, but with the caution spree he was able to stay mainly intact and come out with great track position to nearly win the race.
4. 32 Stryger- Was not a contender for most of the race despite her second place start. However, something went her way, namely McDonald's spin got out of her way. As I recall, I think she was running in what, DEAD LAST around lap 30?
5. 78 Bruneil
6. 98 Dalton
7. 38 Roberts- The other strong car for WestFall. He led over half the race and was only ever challenged by his teammate Anderson and Louise Johnson.
8. 24 Mooney
9. 90 Carmichael- Solid all race. never really on pace with the WestFall guys (as nearly no one was) but always a top 10-15 threat throughout.
10. 27 Moss
11. 80 Rehall
16. 70 Sandfer
17. 66 Naxare R- Going to point out that Jimhi Naxare won the Rookie of the Race in a HHR. And he didn't even have to fight for it.
21. 79 Stucole- Led 31 laps in the early stages while the WestFall guys weren't holding a monopoly on the lead.
23. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- First guy a lap down today. Can anyone tell me what kind of fate that is not going to befall this Frenchman? Also, was the recipient of the first contact in the Big One.
30. 87 Monaco R- Will gain points on William McDonald after Monaco got involved in the Big One by being the person sandwiched by McDonald and Benoit.
31. 35 Johnson- Crash damage from the Big One is what landed her in the back after contending for the early win.
36. 99 Wallace- Was involved in the lap 108 big one.
37. 26 McDonald R- He started on the pole and led some laps early in the race. He sat inside the top 10 on a restart on lap 107, and fell back and was running just outside the top 5 when Sky Lukewalker crowded Benoit Lothaire-Irvine and him into each other, creating a back stretch spinout that would collect 10+ cars.
39. 68 McKalister R- Qualified 19th and was running near the mid 20s position when on lap 4 another driver crowded her into Jose Stic entering Turn 3. The two both drove away from the crash, with Jose suffering terminal damage and McKalister eventually falling 5 laps down as a result of the extended pit stays. However, her survival would be halted, like many others, by slamming into the wreck on lap 109.
42. 2 Stic- Poor Jose Stic, innocent victim of a lap 4 crash that didn't even bring out a caution. He was the main reason that McKalister even made the race, and then he gets taken out by the same person he helped.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 January 27th 2019, 8:41 pm

New Hampshire Roval Test
Non Charter Top 6: 52,44,66,73,37,02
Qualifying:
Q3
1. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- This is a track that is known for having a polesitter's curse, so we could be looking at more misery for him, but at least he got the pole.
2. 45 Bunnell
3. 30 Lukewalker
4. 11 Freeze- Freeze is very quickly approaching the points leader Deb Bruneil, and a good day here could help him eat into that gap even more.
5. 70 Sandfer- A road course ace who won multiple road races in Season 8, but is on a very long winless drought.
6. 50 Hunter
7. 38 Roberts- Won the off-line test.
8. 98 Dalton
9. 40 Dumindu
10. 80 Rehall
11. 90 Carmichael- Proved her worth by winning at a road course in Season 8, then found a win at the oval version of New Hampshire in Season 9.
12. 79 Stucole- Hasn't won since Season 8 Talladega. Her first win was a memorable battle between two rookies gone bad leading to the ultimate takeout and a surprise win by her at the road course at 3 Fourty-9.
16. 24 Mooney
23. 52 Martin- Showing a lot more prowess this year than he did last year in the shambles of Bright Racing.
27. 47 Dawson
31. 34 Anderson
32. 26 McDonald R
35. 02 H. Fitzwater
38. 87 Monaco R- Has been gradually closing on McDonald, but it will not be enough if he keeps going at this rate, he will be eliminated before the finale.
Results:
1. 52 Martin- The first win for a driver that we had seen coming from a mile away. Ever since he got in the car in a substitute role for Maddie Hightower in the 43 and ran inside the top 10 in his debut at Ohio while that team was gradually growing close to a buyout by SM Christmas, we knew that he had the ability to rise up to become the next big thing. Now, will he follow this up with results during the ACTUAL Season X?
2. 61 T. Vernio- He did win the Season 9 Post-Season Test at the oval layout of New Hampshire. And this result on the road course layout proves that Tripey may have this track completely mastered.
3. 58 Gonzalez
4. 65 B. Moss- She is keeping up the consistency, but her bad run in the AKMP race has her locked out of the preseason title race.
5. 78 Bruneil
6. 70 Sandfer
7. 45 Bunnell
8. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- The Polesitter's Curse strikes again, and this time it hits one of the unluckiest drivers of the entire preseason, Benoit Lothaire-Irvine. Thankfully, the curse kept him out of the eye of the storm and led to him being one of the only 9 survivors of this grueling race.
9. 30 Lukewalker
10. 72 Wise- First person to finish out of the race. She had an incident with then top 6 contender Eric Monaco.
11. 87 Monaco R- With no sign of William McDonald, Monaco has an increasing chance of being able to compete for a title at Sonoma.
12. 38 Roberts
17. 11 Freeze
19. 47 Dawson
20. 26 McDonald- However, McDonald did manage to minimize his damages here in the midst of the chaos.
28. 80 Rehall- Involved in the Big One at New Hampshire Roval. That chicane complex is very tricky, and no one seemed to manage it well with the exceptions of the top 2.
29. 02 H. Fitzwater- The wife of Zachary Fitzwater who was not really known for having a knack for road courses, Henrietta has struggled to qualify throughout the preseason, but managed to make this race. Maybe she's the one that's good on road courses?
33. 34 Anderson
37. 24 Mooney
40. 98 Dalton- Two of the Money Motorsports cars were involved in the same 6-10 car pileup on lap 3. Dalton and his teammate Mooney were actually the two that made the original collision in the chicane that set off this first of 5 big ones.

**The series has decided to scrap the New Hampshire Roval in favor of the speedway configuration.**

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 January 29th 2019, 9:46 pm

Daytona Roval Test:
Non Charter Top 7: 82,81,02,86,63,2,07
Q3:
1. 82 Mack Johnson- First career pole for the driver who made a name for himself as a road ringer and great replacement driver last season while racing the 20 replacing Charlie Jackson for 6 races.
2. 38 Roberts
3. 34 Anderson
4. 57 Kendall
5. 81 E. Huddleson- The HHR team is coming back, this time with Eliza getting a top 5 qualifying time, most of the credit for which comes from the group in which she drafted.
6. 02 H. Fitzwater- She made it into both of the road course tests so far and had a great qualifying run for this one.
7. 45 John
8. 11 Freeze- Has continued to gain on Deb in the points.
9. 78 Deb- But Deb is not allowing Freeze to get away as she also got a great qualifying time running in the row behind her son.
10. 35 Johnson
11. 80 Rehall
12. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- He started out his career as the one coming in as a road course ace, but that theory was not really backed up by his early career, but now it seems to have come back to him with his recent win at Round 18 last season.
22. 98 Dalton
24. 1 Garrison
25. 87 Monaco- Yet another race in which he starts the race at a slight advantage over McDonald, but with the gap he has even this won't be enough to get him into the finale. I've also heard he's been having some disagreements with McDonald lately, especially after the Michigan crash...
26. 24 Mooney
32. 26 McDonald R- This kind of run will certainly not be enough for McDonald to really do anything with regards to the title, as that's already locked down between Deb and Vince Freeze, but this is enough to clinch ROTY for the preseason.
37. 70 Sandfer- His last win was at the road course of Watkins Glen in Season 8.
39. 47 Dawson- The DDS Champion and CTRS Season 9 ROTY runner-up has not had the preseason testing season he has hoped for.
40. 07 Shepherd
Race Results:
1. 38 Roberts- Was a persistent contender all race long, but in the end came through with the win after passing Benoit Lothaire-Irvine with 2 laps to go.
2. 11 Freeze- Was probably the fastest car in the field, and he led the most laps, but was trapped back in third after a late pit stop while leading.
3. 80 Rehall- With 3 laps to go it appeared as if Roman Rehall had the car to beat for the last 2 laps, but Roberts found a way around him with a dive bomb in Turn 1 with 2 to go.
4. 96 Lothaire-Irvine- Was always lurking in case something happened, but nothing ever did.
5. 34 Anderson- Early in the race, Kevin Anderson was a winning contender, having taken 2nd place from Mack Johnson on lap 4. (Yes, 2nd place was significant on lap 4 because the leader at the time, SO Garrison, received a penalty for cutting the course after discovering a track glitch.) Unfortunately, Anderson wasn't able to hang.
6. 81 E. Huddleson- Wow, a consistent run out of the HHR, was in the top 10 all day.
7. 07 Shepherd- The guy who started 3rd to last came away with a 7th place finish, I don't know if it was a miracle strategy play late or whether he had that good of a car, but yeah, that happened.
8. 78 Deb- Lost 6 points in the battle against Freeze today, giving Freeze a legitimate shot at Sonoma if Deb doesn't do well.
9. 35 L. Johnson- It was a shock to see the Rank D cars actually be competitive, and Johnson was the primary display of Rank D strength early until pit stop stuff happened and caused her to lose position.
10. 82 Mack Johnson- Sat on pole, but was never really significant.
15. 02 H. Fitzwater- Was struggling with her car for most of the race.
23. 98 Dalton
26. 47 Dawson
29. 70 Sandfer
31. 26 McDonald- This seals Eric Monaco's fate, as he will not be a contender for preseason ROTY, giving the title officially to McDonald. But this might just make Monaco even more angry...
36. 24 Mooney
38. 87 Monaco R
40. 1 Garrison- According to scoring he was running in the 26th position at the finish. However, he was caught cutting the course after a frontstretch spinout on lap 3 that led to him going out of control on a restricted area of the track that allowed him to grow a 27 second gap on Mack Johnson and Anderson. The officials did what was fair and penalized Garrison to the tail end of the lead lap so that no one would be unfairly docked position for the track glitch.

Lap 1: McF leads the field but runs wide in Turn 8, Merrick leads lap 1.
Lap 2: No Caution: Bul Dalton hooks Jake Moss into Rob Mooney. Merrick leads.
Lap 4: Caution flies as Sally Hunter hits the Turn 11 wall. Top 10 are 49, 05, 30, 53, 66, 80, 79, 59, 73, 1.
Lap 7: Christian Merrick leads the field back to the restart.
Lap 8: Caution: William McDonald runs under Millers in 7 and spins. Many others collected in the ensuing melee (Jackson, L. Johnson, John, Hunter, Erickson, Carmichael, Umpenkalen, Satska)
Lap 8: Close call in the race back to the line as SO Garrison nearly turned Deb. Top 10: 49, 79, 66, 05, 53, 80, 1, 78, 11, 60.
Lap 10: First strategy play made as Kevin Anderson, the 3, Sheppard, and Carmichael stay out.
Lap 11: Moss goes 3 wide in the back and there's trouble! 47 hard into the turn 10 tire wall as Mooney and Roberts come back across and wipe out Charlie Jackson! Top 10: 34,3,90,69,53,49,11,1,66,79.
Lap 13: More strategy plays out as Jimhi Naxare takes the lead!
Lap
13: Monaco turns McF!
Lap 15: Three wide between Vernio, McDonald, and Monaco goes bad as Monaco slips wide into McDonald forcing him into Vernio toward the Turn 2 grass. They come back across and contact the innocent Cicoria Satska car. No caution.
Lap 17: Caution: Lafter Stucole contacts Lukewalker and spins in Turn 7, refires and gets turned by Gonzalez. Naxare still leads. Top 10: 66,49,53,3.90,34,11,1,78,69.
Lap 18: 49 of Merrick retakes the lead, but we already have a 4th caution on track. DePlatt and Carmichael get together, spin back across and collect Rehall, Kendall, Gonzalez, and Lothaire-Irvine. Meanwhile, Mack Johnson on avoidance slams the inside wall and collects T. Vernio. Lukewalker also involved. Merrick still leads. 49,66,3,34,78,11,53,69,65,1.
Lap 22: Big strategy moves here as Deb stays out with Sheppard, B. Moss, Sandfer, Martin, Hunter, and Gonzalez.
Lap 23: And we've got a caution again as Jennifet wrecks Lance and Carmichael and Millers get collected late. Sheppard leads. 69,78,65,52,70,49,50,3,66,58.
Lap 25: Of course with a caution comes more playful pit strategy. Deb stayed out to take the lead with B. Moss, Martin, Freeze, Kendall, Lothaire-Irvine, and Jennifet Vernio as well as Erickson.
Lap 26: And John turns Kevin Anderson into the Turn 11 tire wall in the midst of the infield! Never thought we'd see a hit there! Deb leads. 78,65,52,11,96,57,43,3,69,66.
Lap 29: Sky Lukewalker to lead it down as he and Dimundi stayed out. And immediately we have caution for the 8th time as Bubba Martin spins in turn 2 with Louise Johnson and Deb. Meanwhile Gonzalez spins in Turn 9 with assistance from Stucole. Jennifet Vernio leads. 37,30,79,49,69,96,45,40,11,43.
Lap 33: Merrick takes the lead back.
Lap 33: Benoit Lothaire-Irvine makes the pass in Turn 3a, but Merrick takes him right back in Turn 9.
Lap 34: Benoit takes John for 2nd but John takes him right back as well as Vince Freeze who had been fighting hard against Erickson, Naxare, and Sandfer. Caution comes out, there is no reason given. 49,45,11,96,66,43,70,57,72,30.
Lap 38: Kendall takes off with the lead after she and Dimundi stayed out. It is immediately obvious that Dimundi is very damaged.
Lap 38: Dimundi forces Merrick wide, that'll end his night, meanwhile Vince Freeze and Naxare are growing tired of Dimundi!
Lap 40: Kendall encounters the lapped car of Ike Gonzalez and makes easy work of the #58.
Lap 41: Jake Moss goes around off Sky Lukewalker, caution #10 is out, and we aren't even halfway yet! Top 10: 57,96,66,11,45,72,23,49,70,73.
Lap 44: Jimhi Naxare leads on the restart, let's hope for some clean racing.
Lap 44: Kendall goes to the inside, retakes the top spot.
Lap 45: Lead heats up again, Naxare to the inside but Freeze sends it 3-wide and completes the pass, but Kendall wasn't done as she passed Freeze into 3a.
Lap 46: Freeze dives back to the inside of 11 and takes the lead back. Naxare is back to fifth.
Lap 47: Wise passes Naxare for 4th, they've been battling for a few laps.
Lap 49: John finally goes to the bottom of turn 11 and passes Kendall, but this fight for 2nd is not going to go away!
Lap 51: Jimhi Naxare got put into the wall by Sheppard in a battle for 6th, Kendall loses 3rd to Wise and then makes a lot of contact with Sheppard in Turn 7! Umpenkalen up to 5th in the battered 73.
Lap 52: Caution is back out after Sandfer forces Lothaire into the tire wall in the eases during a fight for 11th. Top 10: 11,45,72,57,73,69,66,23,52,70.
Lap 55: McF is the leader after taking the contrary pit strategy, but Freeze passes her as they go through 11. Updating the rookies, Eric Monaco is in tenth.
Lap56: McF pits leaving John to go to 2nd with Kendall and Wise tailing him.
Lap 57: Should also update Hood is on pit road with major issues and a lot of damage on the 53. Wise has passed Kendall for third.
Lap 59: Kendall takes third back from Wise but Wise then takes it right back from Kendall. Fun battle for 3rd.
Lap 61: Third place has heated back up. After Sheppard took 4th from Kendall the corner before, Sheppard takes 3rd from Wise.
Lap 62: Sheppard and Wise fight through the eases, with Sheppard getting the advantage. Kendall slips into the clutches of Sandfer.
Lap 63: Kendall defeats Sandfer through 3a, but Sandfer mounts another charge through 11 and falls short.
Lap 64: Sandfer loses 6th to Moss, but Sandfer isn't taking the L easily, he fights back and regains the 6th spot through 11.
Lap 66: Battle for third heats up once more as Wise makes the pass through 2.
Lap 67: Kendall slips in Turn 9, gives fifth to Sandfer.
Lap 68: As Wise moves to pit road, the fight for third heats up yet again between Sheppard and Sandfer, and Sandfer takes the spot.
Lap 72: The gap between Freeze and John has remained at about 1.3 seconds throughout this run. Satska pits from seventh with Hunter and Deb.
Lap 73: Freeze and John pit giving the lead to Sandfer. BIG CRASH and SANDFER'S IN IT! No caution though and that's going to be devastating for both Sandfer and Deb! SO Garrison to the lead and Ike Gonzalez spins in the exact same spot!
Lap 75: Officials are inspecting Turn 1 for oil. Beka Moss pits and leaves 2nd to Jennifet Vernio who is closing quickly on Garrison.
Lap 76: Garrison has to pit and Vernio takes the lead. Umpenkalen also down from third.
Lap 77: Caution as Bubba Martin takes out SO Garrison in Turn 1. Officials have concluded that there may be oil in Turn 1 and hence have thrown the caution. Top 10: 37,66,11,45,72,49,69,57,40,23.
Lap 80: Kendall takes the lead through Turn 2 from Rajesh Umpenkalen. Beka Moss sits in second.
Lap 81: Sandfer by Moss for second. Freeze with a pit road penalty, as Sandfer takes the lead from Kendall in 11.
Lap 82: Stucole up to third, Umpenkalen fighting Mods for fourth. Kendall back out front.
Lap 83: Stucole passes Sandfer through 9, Jennifet Vernio by Moss.
Lap 84: Jennifet holds off an attempt by Moss at a pass pushing her back into a battle with Sheppard which she concedes. Sandfer and Umpenkalen pass Stucole.
Lap 84: Umpenkalen goes wide in 9 and loses spots to Stucole and Jennifet Vernio.

Season X Preseason Testing Empty Re: Season X Preseason Testing

Post by nhood53 February 7th 2019, 10:28 pm

Lap 88: Jennifet Vernio passes by Stucole for third. Sheppard by Umpenkalen for 5th as well.
Lap 89: Umpenkalen back by Sheppard, the Sheppard gets around Ump in 9, finally going to Ump in 11? Nope, they keep going all the way to 3a when Ump finally clears for fifth. Jennifet got by Sandfer for second.
Lap 91: Sheppard has passed Ump for 5th, and Jennifet Vernio has taken the lead! Could this be her day, finally?
Lap 93: Kendall pits, the battle continues to brew between Sheppard and Umpenkalen for 4th.
Lap 94: Sheppard to the pits. Same for Stucole.
Lap 95: Eric Monaco proves crucial in giving Sandfer the lead over Jennifet in 3a. However we know Jennifet is far faster.
Lap 97: Everybody's on pit road except Sandfer, Jennifet, and Keith Erickson. They all stay out for extra laps hoping for the caution. Provisional lead is Stucole.
Lap 99: The two leaders pit. Waiting to see where Stucole is in comparison.
Lap 99: Sandfer holds off Stucole on pit road exit, he remains the leader, now Jennifet has to work through her and Kendall.
Lap 100: Kendall by Stucole for second, Stucole comes back and passes Kendall back in 11.
Lap 101: Jennifet Vernio makes an aggressive pass on Kendall. Sheppard does the same.
Lap 102: Kendall loses control trying to make the crossover on Sheppard as Vernio makes the pass through 9. 10 laps to go at Sonoma.
Lap 103: Stucole and Jennifet have a heated battle for second, the 37 gets the upper hand.
