ARCSOA takes on the streets of NYC

The ARCSOA paddock is now heading to a wide street circuit in New York City. This track was run once before when Cody Llamas barely edged out his teammate in Season 16. The track is quite bumpy, and some drivers have hinted to a possible 1st lap pileup.

"We can go virually anywhere on this track and make the line work. So on the first lap, we can spread out and make rather crazy moves," said Nicholas Vernier.

Fibrosis out for Round of New York, H. Sandfer to fill in

Charlie Fibrosis took a rather nasty hit in the #1 car at the Round of South Carolina. Discover Ohio has tabbed Henry Sandfer to replace him. This is the first time a non-Ohioan has driven a Discover Ohio. Apparently Honda wanted Henry Sandfer to have some experience in a Honda car for next season. Team Principal Kenny Myatt had this to say, "Henry is the kind of driver that I think can become a star in this series. He just needs to be groomed to a certain racing standard. While it is sad that Charlie can't be here, I think it is a good thing that Henry gets some Road Course experience in a Honda before next season." Henry Sandfer previously won the Indianapolis 250 this season. He will be going for the Season 20 championship for the PETRONAS Honda team.

Round 17 of New York Empty Re: Round 17 of New York

Championship rivalries heat up, tensions flare in 2nd Practice, Championship contenders qualify poorly for Round of New York

With the championship growing closer, the tension is building between drivers and teams. This came to ahead when James Shelly and Nathan McKane, who are 1st and 3rd in the championship took swipes at each other throughout the 2nd practice. The end result was a rather nasty looking crash in which they slammed into each other going down the back straight causing Shelly to slam into the curved wall and roll the car, only to be slammed by Tamur Delic. ARCSOA competition director, Vijay Pushanda had enough of the shenanigans and threw both Shelly and McKane to the back of the grid.

Other Championship contenders did not fare much better in qualifying. Cooper Syron and Noah Hart both qualified below 30th, and D.J. Kurtis wasn't much higher then that. Jake Baskinger however did run quite well in qualifying, and will start in a decent starting position.

The start of the race will be interesting because a lot of strong cars are toward the back. James Shelly and Nathan McKane were the fastest two cars in first practice, Syron was also pretty quick in 2nd practice. D.J. Kurtis was fastest in 2nd Practice, but both he and Syron failed to get a clean run in Q1 and were eliminated early on.

Kenny: I love the sound of rain on my RV's roof during the evening. Amazing they actually let a few of us park our RV's with the haulers this week. I don't want to stay in the fancy hotel ARCSOA provided.

Yes, we took swipes, but that is part of the championship, but lets just say the race for that last position will be heated. "

Spoiler:
Baskinger to start at rear of field for Lime Rock and Carbondale

Despite winning the Round of New York, Jake Baskinger will have to start from the rear of the field for the Rounds of Connecticut and Illinois for his rather silly accident with Tuomas Sarrinen

Ferrari Team Principal, Luigi Giacomo released in a statement, "We had a strategy that would have contended with Baskinger at the end of the race. We planned on doing the same number of pit stops as the #4, but having a very short final stint. The #4 was quite slow on his final lap, and our strategy would have pulled Tuomas into the pits two laps after the #4. So we would have gained around 4 to 5 seconds a lap on the #4 at the end of the race. Which would just have been enough to catch him and maybe pass him.  It was clear that Porsche figured out our strategy and ordered Baskinger to wreck Tuomas."

ARCSOA Competition Director Vijay Pushanda however refutes this, "Yes we do see that Jake did show supreme amounts of carelessness when it came to that move. However I saw nothing that shows anything malicious by the Porsche organization itself. I understand that the wreck does look suspicious, and maybe it was intentional. However I don't have any proof of that, other then maybe an incident where Sarrinen blocked Baskinger on the stint before the accident that would prove that it was intentional. The wreck looks it, but there is no evidence to support Mr. Giacomo's claims."

The ARCSOA paddock will take on Lime Rock next weekend, where the other Ferrari driver, Alan Cavagnaro makes his final start of his career.

Yes Yes Yes Finally we got to Victory lane. I can't thank these guys so much. We are back!!!! Now I do want to mention that I am sincerely sorry about the wreck with Saarinen. Definitely my fault I was not paying attention to him at all. I was looking into the corner more then him so I just want to talk to him and discuss this like any situation like this happens.
I know we will be starting at the rear next race but we will be taking that to an advantage to save the car and work on out race strategy. I'm just going to racing my heart know this race will be Alan Cavagnoro's last race. He helped me get into Arcsoa back when we where with Cyberton Motorsports in DWSR so I will be doing this race and the rest of my career for him and make him proud.
