Re: The 10th Running of the American 700 thread
- Spoiler:
- Dodd: "Disappointed that I got involved in the big one early, hate it for my guys. We really struggled with the downforce package that the ARCSOA decided to put in at the last minute, although I do understand why, cause it was a great race."
"Also, props to my teammate Michaels for getting a top 10 run, he survived all day and got a great result because of it."

Re: The 10th Running of the American 700 thread
Alex: "Well at least we walk out of here with a top 25 finish. That engine gave us fits all day. Sorry to everyone for holding them up, I tried to stay out of the way, just didn't work out at certain points like the restarts."
Vincent: "Of all the races for the engine to die on us, it had to be the day where our main contenders didn't make the field. We can't keep having problems like this if we wanna fight for the title. I know bad days happen, but it always seems to be when everyone else is having a bad day."

Re: The 10th Running of the American 700 thread
OOC: Points posted
- Spoiler:
- Did Shelly's win save his ride?
One of the hot news items entering the American 700 was the rivalry between Durbinsport teammates, James Shelly and Lucian Eckdahl. Unconfirmed reports are that neither Shelly or Eckdahl have spoken to each other since the incident which possibly cost Eckdahl a win at the St. Pierre circuit in Belgium.
There were other murmurings that Durbinsport team principal, Ike Durbin was keen to suspend Shelly after the American 700 for his antics in the Round of Belgium. There have been increasing rumors that Durbinsport was in talks with Kyle Bassaglia to possibly drive the #86 for the Round of Ohio.
Those rumors have been supposedly vanquished after James Shelly's recent win in the American 700. Shelly has been immortalized as an American 700 champion, and that provides longevity in this series. Vincent Allen was almost canned from his Red Bull ride mid-season last year, yet remained on the team, largely due to his double American 700 victories.
For now, Shelly's ride is apparently safe. But I do not see the Shelly/Eckdahl rivalry ending any time soon.

Re: The 10th Running of the American 700 thread
OOC: I also must say, this American 700 is my personal favorite. A lot of American 700's have a "period of boredom." This typically is a period during the middle of the race, for 200 miles, where NOTHING happens. Every American 700 has had a period of the race where, nothing happened. For example, the start and finish of Season 14's, the middle part of 18's, the end of last seasons. This period of boredom is actually the reason why I never have recorded one of them live.
This American 700 never had that. It was really entertaining throughout. I wonder what you guys think?
Congrats to our American 700 champion! Lets get on for the rest of our season.

Re: The 10th Running of the American 700 thread
- My Comments:
- Roush: Honstly. Eckdahl has been rather quiet this season. This is coming from a team and driver that have way less funding then DS but made a splash. Honestly Basaglia did not make the A700 because this was his first time in an AES car. He's talented and I expect many things to come out of that Ohioan. More than M. Myatt.

I say the same thing about my special Talladega race this year, had a period of boredom at the ending from 55 to go until 25 to go. Check out that post in the Off topic thread that Shepherd just posted see if it needs to be reported?

Pericles:" Congrats To Shelly, I Ran Hard at the End but I couldn't make up the ground after checking up to let some guys pit. A Podium is the Best thing next to a Win in the A700. I'm truly honored by it and I'm happy to Say Rehall Did well too."
Rehall:" I'm so glad I led some laps, I would have killed myself. (Joke hehe) And I Had a top 10, Ran up Front for at Least 400-500 Miles and Really Battled with Mace. Which was fun as hell, Running up with Pericles and Others made me realize that I Love Racing Even more than I do Before."
