News: James Silverfox Announces Retirement

(The following is the press release)

James Silverfox: "Thank you for joining and I apologize if this was sudden, honestly I was considering waiting to make this announcement, but after some thought I figured it'd be easier to get it over with.

So, as of today I will be announcing my official retirement from the Sony Cup Series at the end of this season.

I've been in the Sony Cup Series for several years now, since my early twenties even. My whole career has been.....something to say the least. While I wish I had been able to accomplish more during my time here, all in all I'm satisfied with my career and because of this, I'm ready to move on from Stock Car racing, and pretty much Motorsports as a whole.

I've watched the Sony Cup Series grow into what it is today, this series is so different from when I started that in some ways I can hardly recognize it. I've seen many careers rise and fall, legends retire, and rookies who paved their way into very successful careers. Sadly, I've also bare witness to the deaths of some drivers, and those sad days I'll never forget, but I will always cherish the happy ones. I've accomplished many things, winning the Daytona 500 and many other races for so many great organizations. While I'll admit I wasn't the most exciting or kindest driver, I always appreciated what I had and well, I made many friends here and I know they'll be friends of mine for the rest of my life.

But I must move on. For the last few seasons I've come to realize that a new era is upon us and some of us veterans are on borrowed time. I don't want my career to end because I have no choice, or have it end on a bad note. I want to be able to leave on my own terms, which is why I signed for YAMP Motorsports a few seasons ago. They gave me the option of staying for as long as I wanted, which allowed me to be able to comfortably make this decision to leave. I wish to thank YAMP, Demax, Mace and other teams and drivers I've raced for, I wouldn't have what I have if it wasn't for them and I will always be thankful for everything they did for me, even if I was sometimes a pain in the ass.

I'm not quite sure if I can still contend for this Championship, but I'll give it my best as it's one of the few things I haven't accomplished yet. Also, I know people will ask if I'm interested in running a part-time schedule sometime in the future, my answer to that? ........maybe, but as of right now I have no plans. And for what I'll be doing after this year, well, I'm not sure. Maybe I'll go try Pro Wrestling or something, but for now, I'm going to try and enjoy my final year as a full-time racer and do the best I can for YAMP Motorsports, I owe them that much. Life's a circuit, once you start it, you gotta finish it.

Sorry if I jumped everywhere, I'm not very good at speeches.

Thank you all for your time."

Hunter Davis: We would like to thank James Silverfox for everything he has done for this organization. He has been a leader for this team for the past 2 seasons and as he's about to end his 3rd and final season with us. He'll always be remember for driving the wheels off of that #28 car. His mentor-ship has not fallen on death ears. Hell if he wants he could work in the shop as a trainer for the drivers. As of the moment there is no planned replacement driver. There is plenty of drivers losing rides and plenty of talent in HNS we'll have to see who we will pick up now having 2 slots open on YAMP.
