"Goodbye everyone"- Kenny Myatt
Kenny Myatt announces permanent retirement after 24 seasons in ARCSOA
Joining Alex Allen and Ryan Griffin in the ARCSOA retirement home, the all time ARCSOA champion, Kenny Myatt announced in a press conference in Mexico that the 24th season of the series he helped solidify would be his last. A full copy of his statement can be read below.
Many people have speculated that Kenny Myatt was waiting for Noah Hart to announce retirement from the series. Hart's involvement in the series was one of the few reasons why Kenny Myatt came back to run for FBR. No word on if Hart is announcing his retirement either. If Hart doesn't retire, he will be the only driver in ARCSOA competition that ran in the inaugural race.

Kenny Myatt's press release wrote:
Well it's happening again. I am announcing my retirement from the series effective at Port Skyline. However, this time I mean it. I came back last time because I felt like I wasn't done yet. I still had business to prove out there. Now, I feel as if ARCSOA is starting to pass me by. In the past, I have always felt as if I could keep up with the evolution of ARCSOA. I know I have done better than Noah, Nick, or Jacob. However, the series has grown so much since the start, that I believe ARCSOA can embark on it's 25th season without me on the grid.
The names of Greg Brown, Randy Carpenter, Jacob Hart, Nick Mace, Ryan Griffin, and Kenny Myatt are slowly becoming names in the history of ARCSOA. The fans have their own drivers to cheer for. Names like Chris Dodd, Nick Pericles, Scott Roush, Bobby Jones, and even my own daughter. I have realized this, and fully embrace the fact that the series that I love so much has grown enough that it isn't inherently connected to the things of the past.
I was around with ARCSOA since the series birth. I was around for the troublesome times following the inaugural season. When Noah, Nick, Jacob, and I, all were wondering if Stock Car racing was dead in the United States. I have seen many different faces come across my path in this life. I met my wife through my involvement in this series.
I have seen my daughter go on to win an ARCSOA championship of her own. When she was sitting next to me in the ARCSOA champions photo in Port Skyline, I felt happier then the three times I was the one hoisting the trophy. I knew then that 24 was going to be enough.
I never imagined the amount of growth this series would see in 24 years. To see it go from a grassroots "fun" series, to a cooperate money making machine really is telling. ARCSOA has grown so much, and I love it. However, it's time for me to make my move set. Port Skyline will be my last race in my ARCSOA career. Then Alex, Ryan, myself, and anyone else who might retire at the end of the year, can enjoy a nice beverage after the race, and begin our retirement.

Griffin offers his thoughts on Myatt's announcement:
"Well way to steal my thunder Kenny, lol. In all seriousness, Kenny [Myatt] is the greatest driver ARCSOA has seen. He has help it through its rough times and continues to inspire countless others to get involved in racing. Maybe when my daughter reaches that age we can sit back and watch our kids continue the legacy of this series."

Jack Hallec: "It is not that I have been here long, and I have not, to be frank, but for many years, I 'ave watched Kenny Myatt go from a winner, to a champion to a legend. There will be no other like Kenny Myatt. There will be no other who was so involved, that it kept ARCSOA part of the racing world. The list could just extend on, lads. While I have not been here that long, I have seen so much of Kenny Myatt, and now, to sit here and race with legends such as him and Griffin for their ("respective") final seasons, with such legends, it is going to be hard for ARCSOA to see yet another legend go."
Jack Hallec: "Kenny Myatt, you have been an inspiration to me. The biggest out of several I could list off of an unending list. Enjoy this last season, Kenny, and go get yourself some good retirement. You deserve it."

Vince Freeze: Dear Kenny,
Although I have only been in the series for a year and am starting my second I will always remember those kind words at Road Atlanta last year. Appreciate the presence and legendary status in the series. Looking forward to racing with the legend one last season this year. Sincerely, Vince Freeze
