Plans for 2017
After a practically shit season, owner Johnson Freeman plans on changing a lot of BFM for the 2017 season. They are planning on keeping their fleet of 3. No announcements on the drivers yet though. Sponsors haven't been named yet. Some speculate BFM's main sponsor for almost 5 years, Starbucks, are considering not returning. But most say that's just bullshat. For 2017 they will be keeping Toyota as their manufacture and most likely their partnership with FBR will still be going ahead. Nothing else has is known about their 2017 situation though.

Re: Blue Flare Motorsports
Perkins to BFM
It's was announced, Johnson Freeman traded away Treck Tauger for Sean Perkins. This could be big for the team! Maybe Perkins and BFM could win the championship together?
No 3 fleet?
It's been in consideration. Johnson Freeman doesn't know what the f#ck to do with his cars. Originally he planned to bring back the #61 for another season. Now he's saying it is unlikely to happen. Why? Well, looking at the points so far this year, everybody orginally on BFM (Tauger, Cavy, Pericles) are 30th and under in the points. Freeman figures going back to two cars will be better for funding and saving money. It's not 100% confirmed, but definitely more likely now to happen.
OCC: Dang, that points scorecard made me rethink my decision to have a fleet of 3. If we're doing that poorly with 3 this season, I don't wanna do it again.

Perkins heartbroken at Red Bull termination, vows to win races with BFM
A visibly shaken Sean Perkins showed a rare sign of weakness when leaving the Red Bull headquarters for the final time. Perkins was demoted from Red Bull racing after his off the track antics and personality got him into too much trouble with the rest of the paddock.
"I know I need to curb my attitude a bit. I am beginning to understand that it is starting to cost me in the long run. But I thought Red Bull had my back. I thought they would stick with me through thick and thin. I joined the team in order to help them find a competitive driver for their car. Got them a few wins to prove we meant business. All so that they could blindside me with this and stab me in the back. They were upset with my attitude, and yes I have one. When someone gets me angry, I tend to spout off on them. But with out any knowledge they circumvent the contract rules and trade me to Blue Flare. I can't blame Blue Flare either, because now they have a car in the chase," Perkins stated.
He continued with, "I understand that I need to curb my emotions a bit. I am going to a sports behavioral psychologist who has done great things with other athletes with anger problems. While off the track, I may be calmer, on the track I plan on being just as aggressive as I have always been. Blue Flare seems to have faith in me, and despite them not having the best equipment, I plan on going for wins in this car. Even if I have to push the car across the line to win. I am not going to say I will be a championship contender now, but I will try my damnedest to make it past the 1st round of the chase. These guys took a risk with bringing in a volatile and hot tempered driver, and now I have to perform to the best of my ability to reward them."

Roush: "I can't feel anything but bad for what happened to Sean, I mean I feel awful about what's taken place in the past 2 days. I mean if that happened to me, I'd be the same way as Sean right now. I want to help him out in any way, shape, or form I possibly can."

Cavy: I wish good and bad luck Sean, haha want you to do well but if you end up winning races in these BFM cars it'll just make myself as a whole driver look bad, but good luck Perkins!

Re: Blue Flare Motorsports
Blue Flare Motorsports will downsize to 2 cars for 2017, yup, it's official. Johnson Freeman released this news in a press conference. He figures, BFM did amazing for their rookie season, then when they upgrade to 3 cars plus a PT car they did crap. So his logic is, maybe if they downsize to two cars, they'll be competitive again. We'll see though. No word on the HNS rides yet, it'll probably be downsized to 2 cars as well. But that'll be discussed at a later date.
