You mean NR2003 right? It depends who you ask if it is 100% "legal", but in most people's opinion it is considered "abandonedware" and so there are no "legal" problems with downloading it. If you want a link to download it, I'll PM it to you.

Actually, that is incorrect. I was looking online, and long story short, it is legal since it came out in 2003 and can be considered abandonware under the DMCA Section 17.b., so you can download it without issue.

So... If it's abandonedware you won't get in trouble for downloading it free? Or is there just a much less likely chance of getting caught? Cause I've been thinking of downloading it online.

I got it legit... so I do not condone any abandonedware downloads. Just be wary of viruses as well! It may be illegal and screw up your computer!

You won't get in trouble.

In fact, you can't get in trouble for downloading basically anything on the internet, the trouble comes with UPLOADING the program on the internet. And the rules are so fishy for that, that it's basically a slim-to-none chance that you'll get anything more than a warning even if you are the one who UPLOADED it. But downloading, no problem, especially with a 13+ year old game...

Saying that, if you can buy it, it's always better, because you'll be holding a pretty rare piece that will probably be worth something 25-50 years from now...

Saying that, if you want the link, I have one that I know for sure doesn't have viruses. How do I know(besides the fact that I downloaded it from there)? Because the person who downloaded it to that site is the guy who runs the DASCAR series, so it's 100% safe.

If you Google "nr2003 download gamefront", the first link (on GameFront) is where I downloaded NR2003 from, at least the backup on my external drive, so I know that one is safe.

So I downloaded it and all, got the update and no-CD patch, etc.

But when I try to go in the application it gets me to choose configuration settings. But it won't let me run the app, keeps making me choose configuration setting repeatedly. Suggestions?

Nah, in truth I probably brought it on myself. I never really did routine cleanups or defrags. Plus AVG had been acting somewhat sketchy lately.

Here's a story fell'as. Last summer I downloaded NR2003 on my laptop, by a YouTube demonstration by Eric Burton. Anyway it worked the first time. It took an hour to do. Anyway I got to watch one race at Sonoma on NR2003 then the game broke/crashed and would not work anymore. So yea just be lucky if you only get 1 race in.
