Round 28 of Texas
As we head to Texas... D.J. Kurtis is walking away with the championship currently but with 9 races to go anything can still happen. Jeff James and Dom Caps are the closest to him in the title fight being 72 points behind. While others are over 2 races back in the championship. How will our contenders do here at Texas?
Go or Go Home Qualifying
1. #81 Bradley Bishop Jr.
2. #62 Matt Daleo
3. #32 Treck Tauger
4. #33 John Arndt
5. #66 Nick Pericles
6. #22 Maalik Nevins
7. #21 Zaedin Davidson
Did Not Qualify
8. #06 Angel Navarro
9. #37 Samet Ozkan
Green Flag Pick: Ryan Acosta
The reason for picking Ryan Acosta is Texas seems to be his favorite place to run on the schedule and not necessarily Texas Motor Speedway. He swept the Texas races here in 2016 and most of his wins in the series have came on tracks like this. Look for Acosta to run very good this weekend.
White Plag Pick: Jesse Turner
Jesse Turner won at Atlanta a few weeks back and even though he's been sliding in the points this track has always suited him very well. I expect Jesse Turner to come out of here swinging and be a contender for the win.
Checkered Flag Pick: D.J. Kurtis
If anyone is going to tie Richard Johnson's record of 3 wins in a row I believe D.J. Kurtis can do it honestly. He's ran very well on 1.5 mile tracks this year. Even though his track record at Texas isn't the best in the world I think he's going to be a solid car for this weekend. If he can win this race this weekend he will tie Richard Johnson's record of 3 wins in a row and also tie Eugene Demax's record of most wins in a single season!
Black Flag Pick: Jacob Hart
Jacob Hart has some great numbers on 1.5 mile tracks in his career but for his final season in the SCS... It's clear the 2 time champion isn't up to speed like he usually has been in his career. Hart has yet to find victory lane in his final season and heading to Texas he has high hopes but honestly I just don't see him doing much. Don't look for Hart to be much of a contender.

Davis: Can't wait to get this race going. Really enjoy these Mile and a Half races even though I grew up on short tracks.
