Heading into 2018, the talk has been about charters in the past few days of teams preparing for 2018. The rules for Charters are if a team holds a Charter they must finish Top 35 in Owner Points to keep their Charter for the following year. Due to overall performance, SUMS Racing (which is now United Emirates Racing) was the lowest in overall performance last year of the current Charter teams and hasn't shown much speed in being able to hold that Charter heading into 2018.
Looking for help of any sorts whether it was because of an alliance or selling it's charter to help fund it's team to buy necessary equipment to improve on it's efforts in past years to stay a float... United Emirates Racing reached out to Martin Motorsports and Turner Performance Racing for any help. Both organizations lead the series in the Ford department of racing with both teams accumulating 13 wins in the Cup Series in 2017 and has reached a deal with United Emirates Racing for 2018 to help them out.
Martin Motorsports and Turner Performance Racing agreed to help provide equipment to United Emirates Racing for 2018 as long as their Hardee's National Series drivers were driving in the car. Both MM and TPR want their HNS drivers to get some Cup experience as they prepare to possibly make the move to the Cup Level in 2019. We can confirm that there is at least 6 drivers plan to drive the #34 Ford in 2018.
United Emirates Racing is looking for anyway to improve their team and this deal with having Hardee's National Series drivers get seat time in the Cup Series all year long with some help from two of the top Ford team's in the series will lead to a very interesting year of racing for United Emirates Racing in 2018.

Pulling for Luke to get the win in his last start in the Daytona 500. And for TJ and Richardson to capitalize on the chance they each have with this ride. I'm sure they'll find their footing soon.
