Sean Harple on top for the first time in his Cup career
Sean Harple's win at Chicagoland this past weekend was met with a lot of praise from the fans and drivers on the grid. Harple has worked his way up from nothing to being on top of the world. 169 races without a win and finally has established his name as a race winner.
Sean Harple has built up a reputation over the years as a classic mid field driver in the Cup Series since debuting in Season 17... Harple has been racing on the Cup circuits for many years now but has came up empty handed. Many times in his career though including driving for underfunded teams on the grid he came close to victory. A championship in 2016 in the National Series brought on a lot of hype for the youngster that Harple was the real deal but his move to FUEL Brothers Racing in 2017 proved to be nothing special. Harple finished 30th in points and on the outside looking in for a new ride with the closure of the team for the 2018 Season. This year for Harple it's like he's turned the corner after partnering with Athenian Motorsports after scoring handfuls of Top 10's and nearing winning at Charlotte and Daytona's July Race for the team, his success caught the eye of successful team owner of Nick Mace. Mace Enterprises needed a committed driver in their #25 Chevy and since the partnership the pair has took off.
Ever since partnering up with Mace Enterprises in the last 7 races, Harple has scored 4 Top 5 finishes including a win at Chicagoland. Momentum seems to be on their side and Sean Harple is looking to make a bigger name for himself in 2019 as him and Mace Enterprises are looking to carry all the momentum into next year. Harple has since moved from 18th to 10th in the points since driving for Mace Enterprises and looks to hold onto his first Top 10 finish in the points standings.
