Sony Cup Series Announces It's All Star Race

Next race on the schedule is the Round 17 of Cleveland and the series then plans to head to Florida for the 400th Sony Cup Series race for the July 4th special race at Daytona! Before we head to Daytona after Cleveland we will be hosting a special race weekend down in Homestead running an All Star race. This idea of such a race has been talked about since the early seasons of the SCS and now it's becoming a reality. The series will run a special showdown race before the All Star Race where drivers not already qualified to run in the All Star Race get to run in a race of their own for a chance to be apart of an All Star field.


Here is how the segments of both races will go down.


Showdown: (20-20-10)
20 laps (winner advances), reset the field for another 20 laps (winner advances), and then a final 10 lap run to finish the Showdown. Winner of the segment will be the 3rd and final car to advance to the All Star Race with a fan vote being implemented at the end of the race on our 4th and final driver moving on.


All Star Race: (40-40-10)
40 laps then a caution will be thrown, a random number between 0-25 will be drawn, whatever number is drawn is how many cars will invert to the rear of the field. Then another 40 laps will be ran and once that is over we will line them up for a 10 lap dash to the end where caution laps will not count to the end of the race.

I love this All-Star format

This Format Is Very Unique in it's own right, Can't wait to see what becomes of it!

Maybe I will make the race one day...
