Season 1, Round 1, The Tokyo 400 Sponsored by Sony
The “Rebirth” of PWCOM: Round 1, The Tokyo 400: Sponsored by Sony @ Tokyo World Raceway
---Opening Show---
Simon Fairchild: “Hello everyone, and welcome, finally, to PWCOM! We are here in Tokyo, Japan at the Tokyo World Raceway, and we are very excited to finally be bringing you PWCOM action. This has been a long and tedious road back, through war, tragedy, and a lot of change, with daily doubts about whether this series would ever return. But finally, PWCOM has returned, “reborn” if you will, so much so that PWCOM President/CEO Lucas Grant has come out and announced that this season will be considered the 1st Season, and a new beginning to this series.
Among the many changes that have come along is a bunch of new teams and drivers. In fact, there are 13 rookies in this season, making it the largest rookie class since the very early seasons. Among them include former AES Champion Nathan McKane, ALS competitor and teen racing star Tayil Wallach, and 22 A700 star Ziki Marley. Overall, these 13 drivers come from 10 different Countries, and are from as young as 16 to as old as 34.
But while a lot has changed, some things have stayed the same. Longfellow & Whitehouse Racing is back with PWCOM Champion Sebastian Meynard, and runner-up Erzhan Zhumabekov is back for one more shot at the Championship with SkyTech Racing. Drivers like Arthur Löwenherz and Tanet Aromdee are also looking for one last chance at glory before they hang it up, while rising stars like Lucia Delacroix and Ryder Smith are looking to make a name for themselves and make their stand among the series's greats.
And so now Ladies and Gentlemen, it is finally time. 28 drivers, 14 races, but there can only be ONE Champion! Let's get this season started!
………………………………………………………………………………………….........................................
???: “WAIT ONE MOMENT!”
Fairchild: “Woah, who's that?”
Lucas Grant: “Who's that? What do you mean who's that? I couldn't let you go off the air without making the biggest announcement of them all!
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a very monumental occasion. A very special moment will happen in just a few short days, where we will finally hear the roar of these engines, and see these 28 men and women giving it everything they have to come out on top.
But a race like this needs to have an additional reward or goal to reach for. Which is why we would like to announce, that the Top 3 finishers in the Tokyo 400(that currently don't have rides) will be given an automatic entry into the Prytech Racing team for the AES American 700, and will be locked into the Irish Hills 400 later this season! What do you think about that Simon?”
Fairchild: “I know that I'm excited, and I hope that everyone watching is too! This will make an already important event have even a little bit more meaning. Hopefully it will be a great race!”

- Spoiler:
- SkyTech Racing Takes the Front Row for Tokyo
The first qualifying session of the season has finally taken place, and it was a SkyTech Racing sweep on the front row, with Italy's Lucia Delacroix edged out her Kazakhstani teammate and former PWCOM Champion Erzhan Zhumabekov. It is a great start for the Israeli based team, who are looking to come out on top this season.
OTHER NOTES:
Former AES Champion Nathan McKane was the top rookie, qualifying 3rd...
Current PWCOM Champion Sebastian Maynard had a bit of a difficult time in qualifying, and will be starting 20th...
A small incident occurred about 1/3 the way through Qualifying, where the #12 of Joshua Hyatt and the #21 of Zachary Fitzwater Sr., where Hyatt looked to have slid up and run into Fitzwater, putting him in the wall. Fitzwater would come down pit road, fix the damage, and wad able to recover to a 13th starting spot.

Lucia: "Definitely the way we wanted to start the season here at Tokyo. I hope we can keep this car up there all day at race time."
Windhelm: "Looks like we have work to do for the race, Stanton starts 19th, while Austin starts 26th. Not a great qualifying session. But it doesn't matter where you start its where you finish."

Frank Vogel: We are very proud to the efforts of the Flying Aces Racing team. Both Hirano and Baranauskas have proved that we have momentum this season. I know quite well Johannes will call the strategy quite well and we can get the victory.
Johann Arndt: Proud what we could show our speed. Our next task is to win.

From Flying Aces Racing:
Frank Vogel: I was a tad worried after the start of the race. The massive falloff from the cars almost put us in jeopardy of the Baranaskas falling a lap down. But the competition caution saved us there. Took a while before the cars came to, and while there was still a little bit of fall off, Hirano still placed 4th place overall, sadly one shy of a confirmed spot in the American 700. Johannes Arndt played masterful strategy and kept us in the race. We'll be ready for Vancouver.
Johannes Arndt: I was surprised to see the cars start to fall off at the start. Heck, we almost lost a lap, but we survived. We're grateful to see a 4th place finish, but we must work on it to go into Vancouver.
Statement from driver Johann Arndt:
Johann Arndt: Thought we had a fast car, but could not keep up with the field at the start. Add on the fact that we were involved in a wreck. That hurts. I know I'm better than that. Let's just continue onward and hope we do not have any more problems.
