D.J. Kurtis' attempt of 4 in a row, falls short after runner-up finish in Canada
D.J. Kurtis was trying to break Evan Gattuso's record of 3 wins in a row on road course races, Kurtis had done won the first 3 road course races of the year and was trying to win the 4th one in Canada. Kurtis had a good starting position to make it happen. He started 5th and tried to be there at the end, he survived the race however, another conservative driver with many more years experience than him was able to hold Kurtis at bay by 20 seconds to take the win. That driver was Charles Sandfer, earning his 16th win and keeping Kurtis from tying him in the win column. D.J. Kurtis may of not won 4 in a row, but he came real close. 2nd place finish in Canada was good enough to add more points to the gap between him and his competition in the championship as Kurtis now has over a race of a point lead over Jeff James who now sits 2nd in the standings.
