13th American 700 to start at 1PM rather than 7PM
One of the biggest fan suggestions coming into Season 24 was the moving of the American 700 start time in order to make the race a day race. ARCSOA chief steward William Williams was quoted saying, "The core of our fanbase is in Ohio and the midwest. Last season, the American 700 ended at 2AM eastern time. Therefore, it was incredibly important to move the start time back to a time where it's not a pain to watch."
The big concern now will be the heat for the fans. The fourth of July in Southern California can get rather hot, and the heat inside the car will probably make the American 700 even more of a test of endurance than it normally is.

Brock: "Well, if I don't make the race (which is what'll most likely happen), I dont really need to worry about it."
