American 700 XIV Thread (Sign Ups Open)
OOC: It's early, but I have some info to pass along.
ARCSOA "opens entry list up" for American 700
After a couple of seasons of rather restrictive entry lists, the American 700 entry list has been opened up again. ARCSOA Competition Director, William Williams stated, "Anyone, and I mean anyone can enter as long as they can get a car on the track. We are even rolling back some of the car regulations as well. As long as the car fits within the basic rules, we'll allow it. We fully expect the full-time cars to have a distinct advantage. However, if a car company wants to bring an R&D car to the 700 and hope to attempt to get in, they can. Also, if a privateer wants to enter, they may have a longshot to get it, but they are more than welcome to attempt."
OOC: Note Full-time drivers are automatically entered, but not given a spot on the grid.

Re: American 700 XIV Thread (Sign Ups Open)
American 700 Format announced
With last years American 700 being segmented up by rain, ARCSOA has announced that this year's American 700 will be a "full day affair."
ARCSOA pulled out all the stops to announce the new format, having Hall of Fame inductee Kenny Myatt come out and do the announcing for it.
Myatt stated the 14th running of the American 700 will be segmented into three stages. The first stage will begin at 11 AM Pacific time, and will last 200 miles (100 laps). After that is completed, all cars two laps down or more will be eliminated. Teams remaining in the race will have until 3:00PM to fix their cars. All cars will be placed back on the lead lap. Segment two will be a 200 miles as well. With all cars over two laps down or more being eliminated. The final 300-mile segment will begin at 7:00PM and will take the remaining cars in order to duke it out for the American 700 crown. Bonus points will be awarded to the winners of segments #1 and #2 as well."
This American 700 format cuts down on what was to blame for a lot of the accidents last year, driver fatigue. We believe the segments should be done at 1:00PM and 5:00PM realistically, therefore drivers will get about 90 minutes to relax between each segment. With the heat in Southern California reaching unbearable levels, these breaks could be critical.

OOC Note: I'm gonna be painting a myriad of one off cars. This is so the guys on Youtube can have a shot, because for me the heat races where there were good cars, bad cars and fugging awful cars were the best part.
