Kenny: American 700 Thunderweek begins in two days... I am the first at the track as per usual.

Kenny: YES! Fitzwater won't be here! That guy is unfit to be driving in this series. 2 weeks with one less idiot on the track!

Kenny: Going to be strange, my daughter is attempting her first race! I know she was runner up last year in ARCSOA Lights, but I still feel a bit uneasy about my little girl being out there!

Looking forward to see Bunnell attempt the race if the ride is painted already. If not he'll try another race later, another one off.

Dodd: "Just got back from Belgium, the only advantage from getting wrecked early was that I could leave and get here early. It's gonna be a crazy week, got a whole bunch of cars in this race, and then there's that team from Israel that seems to have something against one of my ARCSOA Lights drivers... Time to see how it will all go down!"

K. Myatt quickest in opening Thursday Practice, Dodd shocks world by being 2nd fastest

Kenny Myatt was the fastest car on Thursday when the field took to the Auto Club Speedway for the first time of the week. Myatt's car was masterful in the draft. The big news item was the speed that Chris Dodd was carrying. Dodd had a really fast car going into this weekend and he looks to be a possible threat for the top 21 spots on the grid. Brother and Sister, Sean and Erin Perkins were 3rd and 4th. While, Christian Van Der Pesch, rounded out the top 5.

Here is the full top 20 in Thursday practice.

1. K. Myatt
2. C. Dodd
3. S. Perkins
4. E. Perkins
5. C. Van Der Pesch
6. R. Matthews
7. S. Kolanien
8. M. Paulsson
9. T. Wilhoit
10. D. Griffin
11. N. Hart
12. M. Myatt
13. J. Hart
14. N. Mace
15. D. Kurtis
16. G. Acevedo
17. W. Brock
18. R. Griffin
19. N. Pericles
20. K. Collins

Freeman: Two of our drivers in the A700 made the top 20. Those being Sean Perkins who is no doubt the best of all time here so we expected him to be up there. Brock was the other one, but out of all 4 drivers we expected him to be the second best. We believe Rehall can still surprise us and possibly make the top 20. A little more difficult to say whether Nikula will or not. Like Kuzzie he's a very talented rally cross and open-wheel driver. Actually, Nikula's a champion in both. So we don't know exactly what to expect from him here, just as most don't know what to expect from Kuzzie. But hopefully Nikula can do something great here.

Collins: Car felt great and we just cracked the top 20. It's interesting to think about this, this'll be my first ever A700. In my rookie season I got kicked out of my ride by Cavy before the A700. In my second season I was replaced by Andreas Allen in the A700 because of an injury. In my third season I was put out of my ride indefinitely because of my open-wheel crash before the A700. So five years later since my debut and I hope I can impress here.

OCC: I think this is Collins first A700. Hope it is honestly, it would make a good storyline.

Kenny: I have to get in through the LCQ... this is going to be stressful. Yet my daughter made it in the fast 21.

Maddie: I made the race... I can't believe it. I even beat my dad too.

Kenny: I have to make the race now that my daughter is in it!

Foreshadow?

Kenny, when should we expect to know who made it through the LCQ?

Tauger: The one time both of our bosses show up to an AES race on the same weekend and I'm convinced we made them proud, especially towards Shepard's P5 run.

Marcus Freya: That Shepard kid is going places with us.

Nokamaru Saito: 今、私たちは大きなレースでこの成功を繰り返す必要があります。(Now we must repeat this success in big race.)

No... Haven't even run it yet.

Collins: "Five years into my career and still no A700 start. I was so close this time. But f#ck, I'll even swear here, I never made it. I think in 1 years time though I'll be good enough here to make it. At least one can hope. Maybe I'll be that one guy who has a career as a race car driver and doesn't make the biggest event once... Hate to imagine that. But let me just say, that Nikula kid has talent. He killed it today."

OCC: If Collins has made an A700 just let me know so I can correct myself.

J. Kurtis: "Had a stellar car in qualifying, gotta thank the team for doing a wonderful job with the car. Unfortunate my brothers couldn't make it."

Lothaire-Irvine: (Translated from French) Didn't think we would make the race anyway. Just wanted to race at the Americas for fun. It definitely wasn't a disappointment! Going back to my home where I can be in my next Europe Sports Car Championship! Karjala should be great with the car!

Shepherd: Didn't qualify the best at all. The car isn't great for running alone, so that is why I do so well racing in groups. Besides, I make the race! Disappointed some of my friends couldn't make the race, but I'm going to enjoy my time while I can!
