Season 1, Round 5: Karjala
Round 5: Round of Karjala @ Karjala Raceway
Simon Fairchild: "Hello everyone and welcome to the Karjala Raceway, a 3.28 Mile Road Course located in Finland. Karjala is the 1st of 5 straight road courses, going throughout the World leading up to the Irish Hills 400.
As we head through this stretch of tough, physically demanding races, it is this part of the schedule that could play a big part in separating the contenders from the "pretenders", and seeing who will be the Championship favorites.
Here are some of the big questions as we get ready to go racing here in Finland!"
"The World Tour": With 5 Straight Road Courses, will the Top Teams be able to separate themselves from the pack?
Karjala, Cape Cod, HaNegev, Bathurst, Shanghai; These are the 5 Road Courses which could determine who will be the true Championship threats this season. While teams like Flying Aces Racing and Vanquish Tech are hoping that this stretch of races will give them a decisive points lead, others like SkyTech Racing and Windhelm Motorworks are hoping that this is where they will be able to make their march to the top. Who will stand tall on the "World Tour"? We're about to find out!
Tough Times: Trouble Brewing at Lethinen Finland Racing?
After a very difficult race for Lethinen Finland Racing at Rockingham UK, where they became the first team in the Modern Era to record negative points following Zachary Fitzwater Sr's penalty and Nicolas Lothaire-Irvine's huge pit road mistake. Between that and the team's poor showing(13th of 14 teams) in the Constructor's Standings, there are rumors that LFR's Owner Joki Lethinen is at a boiling point with his team. Could changes be coming to LFR if they don't improve and stop getting in trouble?
Champions, Rookies, and Pure Speed: Flying Aces Racing, Vanquish Tech Proving Strong early on, but who's really the Top Team?
After the first 4 races, there has been a lot of battles up and down each race, but without question, the 2 best teams so far have been Flying Aces Racing and Vanquish Tech. Between Authur Löwenherz's dominating early season performance for Vanquish Tech, and Audra Baranauskas/Takumi Hirano's impressive overall team performance, both teams have showed their strengths so far this season. But after these next 5 races, which team has the better chance of standing on top? The numbers say FAR, as Vanquish Tech's Tayil Wallach has had a rough start to the season. But she had a solid rebound run at Rockingham UK, and if she continues running as she is capable of, Vanquish Tech is overall considered to be the better team. But at the end of the day, it comes down to performance on the track, so which team will show up the most as we head to the most difficult portion of the schedule?

Qualifying Results @Karjala
- Results:
- Notes:
- Crimson Engineering Sweeps the Front Row; Flying Aces Racing Struggles
It was an impressive qualifying performance by Crimson Engineering, sweeping the front row with Nathan McKane on the pole and Tanet Aromdee starting 2nd. This team has shown a lot of speed this season, but just haven't had the finishes they've wanted, but will Karjala be their big race?
On the flip side, Flying Aces Racing struggled in qualifying, with both cars outside the Top 20 and overall just not having a lot of speed here. With the next 5 races being road courses, could this be the start of a struggling stretch for the team, or will they be able to bounce back during the race?
As mentioned before, Zachary Fitzwater Sr will start in last because of his penalty from Rockingham UK.

Lucia: 9th "Man, that wreck with the 3 sucked, it was an unfortunate racing incident. We're both very aggressive drivers, and are highly competitive. We just got way too overzealous, and I'm sorry to that 3 team that happened, they've had great runs and do not deserve to have the luck they have had so far. I will say that at least we salvaged a top 10 for the whole team"
Windhelm Motorworks:" Our day wasn't exactly the best, Stanton had issues. but he is a rookie still trying to learn. We feel that he can learn from the mistakes of today and improve for future races. Austin wasn't too strong today, but at least he picked up a decent top 20 finish."
