IRLS MasterCard Championship Series: Round 1: The IRLS 500 at Daytona

An embark upon the new season in the IRLS. We welcome you once again to another season here in Daytona. Here we are once again for one of the premiere events on the schedule, the IRLS 500. Coming into the race, William Duncan for Maverick GP came into the race on a mission. A win already in the Dash For the Check, and now on pole here, it's obvious that Duncan is the man to beat. It's too early to call up everyone for the Playoff race, but Duncan so far is playing an early favorite.

Other news coming into the weekend is the other half of the front row, Alabama native Mackenzy Cherry will start on the outside of pole sitter William Duncan. Making this a Ford Front Row. The first Rookie to make a strike in this season, we'll see where the Rookie of the Year battle will go.

76 had mechanical issues and the 2 got caught up in a big wreck

Pericles: "Not how we wanted to start off the season at all, we were forced low since there wasn't any space to go up middle or high & couldn't do anything about the massive wreck in front of us. I will say those impacts did hurt, whoever plowed into me at the end needs to watch their brakes."

Paganello: "Impressed them at the start of the race, honestly felt like I was one of the best cars out there. Then the #28 came up on me, come on, a Veteran screwing over a Rookie? Never heard of that one before. Sadly I have a feeling that is going to be a huge trend this season."

Roush: I think I shut my biggest critics up these last few days. We Qualified well and performed great. AIDAN did excellent too. despite us being in the same pack though, we were never able to hook up and go anywhere

Cherry: Quiet night. Happy about that because we survived the wrecks and were there when it counted. Can't thank the team enough.
