CM Racing Looking to Become a 2-Car Team Next Season!
CM Racing Owner/Driver Chris Dodd has announced that he is looking into the possibility of opening up a second car for the 2017 season! After seeing past history from other teams in the SCS, and the current influx of drivers expected to be going to different locations, he believes that the only chance of being able to keep up is by going with past history in the SCS and becoming a 2-car team.
No word on any driver possibilities at this time.

CM Racing's Early Plans for 2017
CM Racing has come out with an official plan of action that they are hoping to take to help improve their team for the 2017 season. These things include:
1. Making an alliance/technical agreement with one of the main Chevy teams in the SCS for 2017.
2. Growing into a 2-car team and picking up either a veteran driver or a young up-and-comer to be able to help grow their team.
3. Making a sponsorship deal with current sponsor IKEA(and Ale81 whenever that comes out).
4. Additional sponsorship for 2017.
They are also looking into drivers who could possibly be interested to drive for CM Racing next season, as well as a possible number change.

Ale 81 is there as long as I am around, no worries about sponsorship running out, and even if I leave, I might have Ale 81 just stay there

To McBlair: It will be disscussed in the near future. It also depends on if one of the main Chevy teams are willing to "sell" us equipment for next season.
To Scott: Thanks man, we'll have an "official" talk soon.

Ale81 CONFIRMS Return as Sponsor for CM Racing Next Season
Ale81, a citrus and ginger flavored soft drink, has confirmed their return to CM Racing for the 2017 season. They came on board earlier this summer after Chris Dodd's solid early season run, where he qualified for several races in a row, and was considered to be a surprising underdog story.
The number of races that Ale81 will be sponsoring will be confirmed at a later date.

Dodd MAKES THE SHOW At South Boston, CM Racing Qualifies Strong at Myrtle Beach!
What a day!
Earlier this week, it was announced that the SCS was going to revert back to the top 35 in Owners Points rule, but with a twist in that there would first be a 5-minute qualifying session for the Go-or-Go Homers(36th on back) before the main 42-car session. It came down to the wire at South Boston in the first session, but CM Racing's Owner/Driver Chris Dodd MADE THE SHOW by qualifying 6th, and then backed it up in the main session by qualifying 24th! It was a great run for the #0 IKEA team in qualifying, hopefully they can keep it up on raceday.
And there was more good news for CM Racing in the HNS qualifying session at Myrtle Beach, with Jonny Gardner starting a career-best 3rd, and Roush with a solid 18th place qualifying run.
Overall, it was a great day in qualifying for CM Racing, will it continue on raceday?
Until next time...

CM Racing Results at Myrtle Beach(S1 HNS/Race 3):
Jonny Gardner

Finished: 23rd
Dodd: "By far our best overall run this season for the CM Racing crew, very very happy with the way our team is running right now. For Gardner to have 2 top 5's and a runner-up finish already is something we never expected at the beginning of the year, and while Roush hasn't had the best of luck so far, we are happy with the way he ran at Myrtle Beach."

Dodd "Shocks" in Qualifying, Finds His Way Into the Show at Pocono!
In what could possibly be the most surprising moment in this new qualifying fomat for the SCS so far, Owner/Driver Chris Dodd found just enough speed in the Go-Or-Go Home Qualifying Session to make his way into the main Qualifying Session at Pocono... With only 5 seconds to go on the clock!! And maybe even more impressively, he qualified 17th in the main Qualifying Session to give him one of his best starts of the season!
After Main Qualifying Session:
Dodd: "I can't believe it.... I just can't believe it.... No proud of my team for working so hard on this car, and it paid off with a 17th starting spot. Huge thanks to IKEA and the CM Racing team, let's go get em at the race!!"

CM Racing Announces Sam Kurtis as 3rd Driver in HNS for 2017
CM Racing has come to terms with Sam Kurtis to drive the #88 Ale81 Chevy for 2017!
S. Kurtis: "I signed up for the team believe that we could have a shot at winning some races. ARROW Dynamics has done a good job giving me the opportunity to race this year, and for seeing the speed CM Racing has had so far this season, I think it can be a good decision to go there. My brother D.J. knows Dodd pretty well, and they are friends for a reason. Hopefully, I can show better results at CM Racing, because luck hasn't really been on my side this year."
Dodd: "We are extremely happy to have Sam come on board for the 2017 season. Once we found out that Sam was available, it was a no brainer to try to get him. We can see a lot of potential in him, and we are very excited for 2017!"

After Race 8 at Michigan (HNS)
- Spoiler:
- *With Gardner in Victory Lane*
Dodd: "I can't believe it! This is such an incredible moment, to watch Gardner pull into Victory Lane, I never thought this day would come, especially so soon. I am so thankful for everyone who made this possible. When we signed Gardner to be our main driver in the HNS this year, we knew he would be a great driver for our team... But we never could have imagined this...
I gotta thank the guys at the shop who work their tails off every single week, and the boys here that work so hard to get the car as fast as it can on raceday. To be considered one of the smaller teams in this series, and to be able to pull this off, just shows how hard everyone has worked, and it's really paying off! I also need to thank our sponsors Midas and Ale81, without them this would never be possible!
Let's Celebrate!"
