Skye Commons stepping down from racing to help his son Tyler Commons in racing

Skye Commons in the last few years has been knocking on the door of breaking the biggest winless streak we've ever seen in the SCS history. This year has been a step back for the entire Allen Family Racing Team and for awhile Skye Commons was the best Allen Family Racing Team car in points. Commons sits 30th in points, right in the mist of where his teammates are this year. The team however decided to let him go after 2017 and with this decision came another from the 18 year veteran. Commons has decided to step down and be the father figure to his son Tyler Commons who has won in a midget series championship in Las Vegas this past year. The Commons family in racing will push on however Skye said he thought it was time that "he gave it his best but has faith in his son to reach his goals in racing"


With help from his dad Skye and even SCS Team Owner Luke Martin, Tyler's name has been pushed throughout the garage in hopes of maybe the young driver landing a ride in the Cup division or in the National Series. With his resume in other racing series coming up the ranks, Commons will be a name to look for if given the shot in either of the top racing series of Sony/Hardee's.
